Last night, my elderly kitty started to throw up non-stop and basically lost all control of his bodily functions. He had labored breathing and went into a hiding place to sleep. We really thought it was going to be the end. This is DH's first pet and my cat of over 12 years and we were just devastated. There wasn't really anyting we could do but, I was up practically all night crying and just monitoring him and telling him it was okay and that we love him. I finally fell asleep at about 3 am and when I woke up at 5:00, he seemed to actually be doing better, was up drinking water and was breathing fine - just looked ragged and tired but, not in pain. Scary, awful night.
I went back to sleep for a couple of hours, only to be woken up by horrendous noise. One of our idiot neighbors thought it was perfectly acceptable to use his power saw right outside of his garage starting at 7:15 am!!! His garage is directly across from a concrete retaining wall, so the noise was bouncing back and reverberating through all of the condos. He was still at it when I left for work at 8:40. I've already reported him formally to the condo board and management company. WTH is wrong with people?
So, now I am very sad, completely sleep deprived and pissed off on top of it all. Not good. I really, really, hope the rest of the day gets better.
Please send a thought or say a prayer for my poor kitty... ![]()
Re: Terrible, awful, no good, very bad night and morning :-(
First off - I like the title of your post because I used to love reading that book:)
I will say a prayer for your kitty... Hemmingway isn't it? Hope the day gets better and you're able to get some good sleep tonight. Maybe someone will make your neighbor's power saw "mysteriously" disappear. And.. I truly hope the workday goes quick for you.
Thanks, Lisa...yes, it's Hemingway.
The neighbor is very lucky that my DH had already left for work before he started up or there may have been a real problem. It takes a LOT for DH to get really angry but, after the night we had all bets would have been off.

aw I am so sorry!
I would be so mad if I got woken up like that! My neighbor likes to walk up and down behind our townhouses early in the morning. So one morning I get up, not wearing very many clothes go let the dog out the back he pees comes back in and I was going to leave our screen door open and I look up, he is standing there..ummm hello. What are you looking at you freak.
I hope your kitty is ok and I hope your dumb neighbor doesnt wake you up again.
Hopefully kitty just had a case of eating something bad.
As for neighbor, that sucks, what an inconsiderate ass!!!
