Bloat - do you get this when you start a diet?
I feel like a balloon. I've been eating lean proteins, sodium is not so great, but not so bad (with the exception of kimchi for lunch). Lots of fruits and veggies (fresh). I've been trying to drink a lot of water.
Wtf is this? I hate this feeling of bloat.
Do you get it when you start dieting and eating better too?
Feel free to bitchandmoan about anything else too. I'm bored as hell.
Re: Bloat - do you get this when you start a diet?
Maybe it's from the type of veggies you are eating? Or your body is adjusting to an increase in fiber from the fruits & veggies?
I am currently bloated from pms. It was not a smart decision to wear pants today.
I don't usually have this problem, but maybe you have bad gas from changing up your diet. I've never tried it, but maybe you could check out beano or something.
Pretty much this. And let me tell you, I'm totally bitchy until my body decides to catch up to the healthy eating kick. Ugh. Keep it up though - you'll turn the corner soon.
The main veggies I've been having are greens, bell peppers, zucchini. Fruits are grapes, apples, plums, peaches and nectarines.
I've had lentils on two days but only like 1/4 cup.
Sucks.
I have some beano-like stuff that I took this morning and it hasn't helped.
Funny thing is - I'm not even bitchy and cranky like I usually am on diets. Maybe its the fresh fruits and veggies thing? Or cutting out most starches? Whatever it is, I feel high all the time, without the drugs. Weird but I'll take it!
I did break down and buy some rye bread the other night, and also some reduced fat swiss cheese. That will be my snack this afternoon, along with a Trader Joe turkey meatball.
My God I'm chatterboxing too. Sheesh.
It's supposed to be normal...The below is from an email my boot camp instructor sent out a wile back
HELP - I'M GAINING WEIGHT!
QUESTION: What am I doing wrong? My arms feel leaner but I have gained 4 pounds and my clothes around my hips and stomach feel a lot tighter. L
When starting a new strength-training program, your muscles are not accustomed to this type of exercise and they can become very sore during the days following the workout. This phenomenon is called "delayed-onset muscle soreness," or DOMS.
The muscle tissue becomes slightly inflamed and slightly swollen by fluid retention. This temporary retention of fluid can result in a 3- to 4-pound weight gain within a few days of the workout. Slightly swollen muscles may also result in a slight tightness in your clothes. Remember, this is not body fat, it is a temporary phenomenon caused by the transition your body is going through. You will wake up one morning very soon and find the fluid retention gone, and extra room in your pants!
Most people are motivated enough to put up with muscle soreness, but if you are watching the scale go up, you may become discouraged. Understand that this is a normal and temporary phenomenon, and it is the first step in building beautiful firm muscles that will burn fat efficiently 24 hours a day, smooth out the thighs, and give your whole body definition.
If you can find the Yogi Peach Detox Tea (with dandelion), it will speed your water release. Often found at Vons. Take a warm Epsom Salt bath to release water and help with muscle soreness!
Omg JD THANKS!!! That makes so much sense.
I guess I have DOMS.
imma's thinking it's caused by your consumption of taco bell, bacon, ice cream, or ____ (insert bad food here).
