My cat is having seizures and other fun stuff

Yesterday my cat was acting funny all day, but I thought it was probably just his usual constipation problems. Well, shortly after 7 p.m., when DH got home, his problems started looking more serious. He kept walking in circles and his back legs gave out on him. Then he fell over and started twitching. Then he seemed okay for a while, and then it happened again. So DH got me to take him to an emergency vet, at 11 p.m., in a thunderstorm. (I had to do it because DH doesn't have his licence.)

Long story short, the emergency visit cost us more than $800, we have no answers, and we have to take him to his regular vet in an hour. Ugh. Right now he's in his carrier meowing with the IV catheter still in his leg.

I also have to take Andrew for his first vaccinations this morning. I think I've read that he could be off for a few days. Anyone have experience with this?

Crap - not a good day for you! Poor kitty!  I hope he's feeling better soon.  And good luck with the vaccinations.
  • DS was really clingy and slept a lot the day of his 2 mo vaccinations.  Do you have infant Tylenol?  That will help with the pain.  We just had a cuddly PJ day that day, and he was fine the next.

  • Poor kitty. I hope everything goes okay today.
  • Your poor kitty! That had to be scary for you guys. I hope you get some answers.

As far as 2 mo. shots go, give a little Tylenol before his appointment and give lots of love and cuddles all day. DD didn't get a fever until about 12 hours after the shots, so I gave her more Tylenol then.

    GL!
