I need somewhere fun to go tonight
I have been tasked with planning a super fun night out tonight and I am at a total loss. 
It's too much pressure.
Anyone know where I can go for nightttime drinks that:
~ is in the general Newport Beach-ish area
~ doesn't cost $8 for a beer
~ is super fun and conducive for hanging out and drinking
I will entertain any/all suggestions. My brain is fried right now.

depending on the crowd classic q's can be fun...
I like the Blue Beet, but they charge a $5 cover, which offends me. Sometimes they have a cover band playing, so I am fine with the cover, but the past few times I have gone it has just been a DJ. Blah.
charging a cover is uber-lame.
where did you guys end up going?
We went to Mutt Lynch's, but didn't consider the summer renter crowd when we made that decision, so we moved along to Newport Bewing Co.
