Do you ladies know of any ranches or equestrian centers that offer riding trails? We wanted to take our niece for her birthday; she's turning 7.
For those of you who ride, is that too young? This will be her 1st time, but we thought it would be something she'd enjoy doing.
Re: Horseback Riding in DFW
I haven't been here, but I know a group that has used them twice. They are in Benbrook, so it's probably only close if you're west of Arlington.

I don't really know anything about this place - just that I drive by it every now and then - Marshall Creek Ranch in Southlake.

Since she is fairly young, I would think they would put her on a smaller horse or pony and they would probably just lead her around in an arena. I seriously doubt they would take her out on an open trail unless someone was leading her.
I started riding when I was 7, so I know that kids that young can ride on their own, but that's only after a lot of instruction and supervision.
This one in Southlake allows beginner riders on their trail rides.

What a great idea, she'll love it!
