Well, my poor kitty, Austin, spent all day yesterday being poked and prodded by the vet, but none of the test results explained the seizures. The vet thinks it's probably a brain tumour. His recommendation is to wait for it to happen again and then put him down. He's 12 years old. He's at home and doing fine today. Maybe he won't have any more seizures for months, who knows? Oh, and Austin was so upset that he bit DH quite viciously yesterday, puncturing his finger on both sides. DH went to a walk-in clinic this morning and they gave him a tetanus shot and antibiotics. Sheesh.
This is my favourite picture of Austin.

In other news, I took Andrew to the doctor yesterday for his first vaccinations... and the doctor wasn't there.
Me: I'm here for my son's appointment.
Receptionist: Okay, which doctor?
Me: Dr. E.
R: Oh, Dr. E isn't here today, didn't she call you?
Me: No...
R: She said she called everyone.
Grrr, how frustrating. I have to disrupt his whole routine again to take him back on Monday. Thanks a lot, Dr. E.
Re: update to cat having seizures
Poor Austin! I really hope it's not a brain tumour. Putting down pets is heartwrenching. I have sooo been there and it still hurts to tell the tale.
And what a PITA about the doctor's office. grrr
I'm sorry about your cat, I hope it was only a one time thing and Austin gets to stay around for a lot longer.
*hugs*
As for the Dr's office, I feel your pain. I called to make an appt when I found out I was pregnant, and was told that my dr no longer worked there. He had picked up and moved to a different city. THANKS FOR TELLING YOUR PATIENTS BUDDY!!! I hope your next visit is more smooth!
Thanks, ladies.
OMG, that's ridiculous! Makes it look like something shady was going on, like he was running from a malpractice suit or something.
