Hi, Ladies! How was everyone's weekend?
I'm exhausted, as usual. Watching a show about vampires and cults right before you go to sleep is definitely not conducive to a good night's sleep!
The shore was beautiful this weekend, but the beaches were so freaking wet because of the new moon and the rain. This week is going to be torture!
Nat, how's Oscar doing?
Re: Goodmorning
I'm in another blah mood. And I'm not looking forward to this week at all.. lots of meetings, and I have to go to DC on Wed. for work, which means catching a 6.55am train on Wed. morning at 30th Street. I miss getting sufficient sleep.. it just doesn't happen anymore.
My parents met with my ILs (own a real estate company) yesterday to list their house. They're planning on moving to MD, and I'm sad/mad/scared/pissed/etc. that they're moving so far. I don't get it...
Erin: that sucks!! I would me mad too if my parents moved far away!
I'm exhausted too, this weekend flew by but I have no clue what I did. We spent Saturday having a business meeting for the new place for like 6 hours (yay fun) . I did get some cute little things for my sisters baby shower, I'm going to make cupcakes so I found cute little cupcake holders and toppers.
I can't believe it's the last week of July!! Where is the summer going, I go back to work in 4 weeks and I feel like I just got out and we haven't even made it to the beach yet
Oscar is doing good. He's on a strict diet now because he ate six pounds of cookies. So he waddles now instead of walks. I may have called him Fat Boy a couple of times this weekend. It no longer looks like he swallowed a basket ball though. I also had a long talk with him on the dangers of eating 24+ people cookies in one sitting. I don't think any of it sunk in.
Erin - My parents moved in SC. It's weird at first but you get use to them being far away. Also now I have a great vacation home in Myrtle Beach.
Kristen - I have a whole bunch of books on cupcake recipes and cupcake decorating. I can bring them with me tomorrow if you want to look through them.
Erin--my parents just moved 1.5 hours away (they were 20 minutes before) and I was pretty bummed for awhile. We used to go over every two weeks for dinner.
You'll get used to it and who knows, your parents may move back once the kiddies start flowing in.
Good morning!
My weekend was pretty awesome because I got ot see my sister, BIL, and nephews for the first time in a year AND I got to meet my new niece. They are off to LBI for a couple nights and then they'll be back at my house for more fun.
Poor Oscar! I'm glad he's doing a little better.
We had a nice weekend in MD with our in-laws since my MIL was feeling well enough to get out in the sunshine on Saturday.
Where in MD are your parents moving? Honestly, it's so not far once you get used to it. Due to MIL being sick, we're down there pretty much every other week and it's really not that bad. It's a nice drive and a chance for H and I to really be alone and talk. My niece is used to the hour drive to my ILs and the 3 hour drive to the shore to see her other grandparents. It's not easy, but even kids adjust.
They're moving to Easton, MD... a little over 2 hours away, which isn't terrible at all. Just very different... my parents are both 61, and they're moving to a place where they know no one... and it worries me that even though they're both healthy, they're moving to a place and will have to find new doctors and won't have family or friends super close.
It's also hard bc my H works most weekends, which means I'll be making the trip by myself most of the time. It'll be fine.. I'm just being a whiny baby, dealing with the impending sale of the house and their move.
That is tough. If they need any recs on docs or anything, let me know. MIL probably knows half the medical staff in MD.
I think it says a lot about their relationship, though, that they are able to pick up and move together somewhere where it will be just them for a while.
Natalie: Glad the pup's doing better!!! Thanks for the offer but I'm sticking with a simple cupcake design b/c I don't know what kind of time I'm going to have. I did see some really cool cupcake ideas where you make them look like babies or botties but that would take me forever to do 50 like that
nygirl, if you want to skip the making of the cupcakes, a friend of mine just opened her cupcake business and I think she's really reasonable -- $11 per dozen.

Hey ladies!
This weekend DH and I hosted a family BBQ at our house. I tried out a bunch of new recipes and everything turned out great. We also started planning how we are going to finish our basement. I am so excited.
Also- check out these awesome cookies I made over the weekend. It was my first experience with royal icing.

Hey! Hope everyone is enjoying the little bit of sun we have before the storms roll through.
This weekend we did yard work all three days, but it shouldn't have taken that long except for the weather and other planned activities. Saturday we went to a 40th b-day party and I took Aidan in the pool there...lots of fun. I swear my kid is a fish. Sean and I managed to watch two movies OnDemand this weekend-The Heartbreak Kid and Stepbrothers-more movies than we've watched in months!
It was a pretty productive weekend overall and I'm hoping to move forward on the plans of redoing our living room this week!
