To-Take Lunch Recipe

I am going to my friend's house tomorrow, she has a 2 week old baby and my friend with a 2 month old baby is meeting me there. I am bringing lunch. Anybody have ideas of a tasty lunch I can take over? No dairy.

Re: To-Take Lunch Recipe

  • I am no Martha Stewart but what about something really easy like a cheese tray and fruit and dip.  Sometimes finger foods are good, especially if its hot out.  Or what about some type of wrap?  I am sure some of the other girls will have some better ideas.  GL :)
  • hmmm a wrap does sound tasty. I was thinking of making bean salad too.

I'd stay away from the bean salad, especially if she's BFing.  Might make mom and baby rather gassy and uncomfortable.  What about a Greek style pasta salad?  I love making it with tortellini, but that's probably out because of the cheese filling.  You could always serve the feta on the side.

  • I am an idiot, I just re - read your post.  No dairy, so I suggest a cheese tray.
  • A cold pasta salad sounds yummy. I also like the idea of wraps. Even a nice cold lettuce salad with BBQ'd chicken breast on it would be awesome.
  • I bought stuff to do pitas w/ hummus, green lettuce, tomato and cucumber. I didn't get the recipe for bean salad from my mom so I'm not doing that, but good point about the gas. I bought baklava for dessert and pink lemonade to drink ;)

the cheese tray was a good one, the only reason it's no dairy is because my one friend found her baby is really fussy when she drinks dairy
