Tuesday POLL: Favorite Meal on the Grill

In honor of the very summer-like 90 degree temps expected here today...what's your favorite meal to cook or have cooked (if your DH does the grilling like mine does!) on the grill?

Re: Tuesday POLL: Favorite Meal on the Grill

  • Blech to the heat! I am so ready for fall!

And YUM I love when my DH grills (he grills better than me, so he does the grilling). I like chicken or steak grilled on the grill, and then served with either veggies cooked on the grill or a zuchini w/ cheese done on the broiler, and with a baked potato. YUM!

  • I like chicken/steak, corn on the cob and a baked potato all on the grill...yummy

  • I love salmon on the grill,  my favorite recipe is dijon mustard spread over the salmon, salt and pepper then wrapped in foil and on the grill, I am making this tomorrow actually!  Everyone always loves it!
  • Grilled portabella burgers and corn on the cob.  Yum :)
  • I love lots of things on the grill so we tend to grill a lot.  Tonight we're grilling scallops and corn on the cob.  Last week we did shrimp with a yummy garlic sauce on the grill.  I also love filet mignon or even just chicken and marinated peppers and onions on the grill.

  • What was in the garlic sauce for the shrimp?

    That one sounds delicious

There are two recipes that we use and I will look them up for you tonight.  One is good as a scampi and the other is great just to grill and eat.

  • Gardenburger and corn on the cob!
  • DH does all the grilling, we joke that I'm not allowed to even touch the grill.  He mades awsome steaks, london broil, pork chops, burgers and chicken.

Okay, can you tell I'm starving, thank-goodness it is almost lunch and I have the left over Grilled London Broil on my salad...can't wait!

  • DH does the grilling in our too.  I don't even touch the grill unless its helping DH move it.  We actually need a new one so we're holding out for the big end of season sales because we honestly use ours year round.  DH will put the winter jacket on and grill burgers unless its icy...LOL.

I love burgers, corn on the cob, and of course chicken or steak on the grill.  Tonight we're having steaks because we picked up a big pack at Costco yesterday since DH ended up not going OOT for work at the last minute.

This is us too.  I'm so glad DH grills year round.  I don't know what we would eat sometimes otherwise.

  • Southwest spice rubbed chicken thighs (the breast tend to dry out more and the thighs stay nice and juicy), chipotle butter corn on the cob, bake potato, and grilled peaches/plums (just make sure the grill is lubbed or the fruit really sticks). Just leave on enough for a nice grill mark. The heat draws out the sweetness.

  • A nice steak with olive oil and McCormick Montreal Steak seasoning. Yum!
  • I love steak and chicken but I especially love when we make shrimp fajitas.  We grill the peppers, onions and shrimp.  I wonder if we can just heat up the tortillas on the grill, never thought of that.  Now i think we have to have it this weekend!!!  And my DH grills, I only touch it to move it.  And we also are waiting for end of season sales to get a new one!!
  • Definitely steak, but we make kabobs a lot - marinated shrimp, etc. YUM.

  • I love grilled fish- any kind!

BUT.. DH is a vegetarian, so we don't make that very often.  I LOOOOOVE it when he grills vegetables and makes stuffed portabellas on the grill- he stuffs them with artichokes, feta, dill, and some greek stuff (not totally sure what all is in it, but I know it's tasty!)

  • I love Turkey Burgers on the grill....yum!  This post reminds me that we need to get more propane.

  • I'm too impatient to grill, so DH does the grilling.  Plus, I love how he smells all grill-smokey when he's done!

Plain ol' cheeseburgers (DH makes awesome burgers) are my favorite.  We also do a Korean BBQ marinated round steak that's quite tasty as well.

  • MMM....you girls are making me sooo hungry!
  • salmon for me too, but our wrapped in foil recipe is salt & pepper, dill, and lemon slices

However, we don't own a grill yet.  I really want one.

I didn't forget, I'm trying to find it and I will let you know when I do.   Sorry for the delay, this week has been long.

  • mmm, good poll! :)

I love, love, love steak on the grill (either london broil or filet mignon) and sliced grilled potatoes!

    Sliced Grilled Potatoes:

take a baking potato and wash it.  Make 1/4" slices into the potato starting at one and and going to the other but do NOT cut all the way through to the bottom of the potato (about 3/4 of the way through)! Lay potato on a piece of foil in the center and in between every other slice, put a thin pat of butter.  put some extra butter on top and sprinkle with salt and pepper.  You can add sliced onions if you'd like.  Wrap the foil into a packet but DO NOT PIERCE FOIL.  Put on grill and cook like you'd cook a baked potato on the grill (time depends on size of the potato).  SOOOO yummy (crispy skin, soft fluffy middle!)
