Does anyone drive a Nissan Rogue or Altima?

I will be getting a different vehicle next month and need some pros and cons for the Rogue and Altima.  Those are my top 2 choices right now.  TIA!!

Re: Does anyone drive a Nissan Rogue or Altima?

  • I have an Altima but it's a 2003.  I went from a car with a problem every month to the Altima and it's been a great experience.  I will have 2 kids in this car and we don't have any money to change cars for a while - I'm so happy it's got a huge trunk, nice roomy back seat, relaible (so far), etc.  I love it and would get another Nissan.  Not sure what a Rogue is so I can't really compare the 2.
  • I had an Altima a couple years back, and I loved it!  Still may fav 4 door car I think.  I think the Altima and Rogue are just two different animals to compare....if I wanted a 4 door car, I could easily buy an Altima, however if I'm looking for something like the Rogue, I wouldn't pick the rouge.  I like Nissan, but there were other vehicles in the Rogue category i liked much better...which is why I now have a Mazda CX-7.  :)
  • I don't think that you could go wrong with either one of those options.  My husband drives an Altima (2008) and my sister has a Rogue (2009).  I have driven both of them and I like them both.  If I were picking between the two for myself, I would probably get a Rogue, but really for the extra room in the back and because I currently have a car and would want something a little different.  The nice thing about the Rogue is that it really does feel like you are driving a car and not a big monster truck.  Both of them get really good gas mileage.

I would recommed going NOT going to Trophey Nissan though.  Long story short, my sister and husband bought their cars on the same day (same sales man) and we were there for 9 hours.  I have other reasons for not liking them, but we spend our whole Saturday at the car dealership.

  • My parents drive an Altima, they've had it for 3-4 years and have never been happier with a car. That is, until my Dad got a Rogue as a rental for a few weeks while his work car was in the shop. They now want a Rogue, so bad. I think it truly depends on what you want as far as style. I'm not a Trophy Nissan fan either. I think my parents went to Bankston.

  • Thanks for the input ladies!  I drive a 2 door car right now and we will need something a little bigger when the baby gets here.
  • Not a Rogue or Altima, but I have a Nissan Murano and LOVE it! I haven't had any problems with it and think it's a great car. The only reason I have considered getting rid of it would be to get a larger vehicle after our second born arrives, but other than that, no complaints and it gets fairly good gas mileage as well.
  • Mu husband drives an 08 Altima and he loves it. I know it is only a year old, but no problems so far. We had a good experience at Bankston Nissan Lewisville.
  • Oh, I totally agree on the HUGE trunk...I couldnt believe it.  You wouldnt have a problem with a stroller folding and fitting well back there I dont think.  The back seat is very roomy for a 4 door as well.

I bought mine from my brother in law, he works out in Weatherford at Jerry's.

  • I have a 2004 Altima with 140K miles on it.  I have had some minor issues with it . . . I had to have a sensor replaced, but that comes with the wear and tear of a car.  It's been a great car for me, and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.  I secretly have my eyes on the 2009 Maxima though.  :-)

  • I drive a Rogue and I love it! It drives just like an Altima and has the same type of gas mileage. We've had great luck with it and love how roomy the trunk is. Although, the backseat is no bigger than an Altima, so a bigger backseat for a carseat may not mean anything.

If you have specific questions let me know.

  • I just bought a Rogue and I LOVE IT! I used to have an 01 Escape and this car drives like the escape but it's smoother and much cooler. I got the leather interior and LOVE IT. heated seats, awesome controls, super cold air and super hot heat, totally amazing sound system (my little brother thought i'd souped it up).  It's cute and I get tons of compliments. Buy from Brian at Bankston Nissan-he's great. We've bought both of our Nissans from him (husband just bought an Altima Coupe).  The backseat is pretty roomy front to back compared to my Escape, and I fit five people including myself in the car for a 5 hour drive and there were no complaints. Love it! (I said "love it" too many times, but whatever. I do!)
