So, I may never have a kitchen...
After weeks of searching for a suitable contractor, we got this great guy to come in and give us estimates. He filled in all the paperwork for the bank and everything. He was willing to work with us with our small budget to complete the renovations. (Since our last contractor fell through, we have been doing a lot of the work on our own and with help from family and friends.) Yesterday evening, the bank called DH and said the new contractor was not suitable, and didn't tell us why. So here we go again...searching for a new contractor to finish the reno project for us. Meantime, I have no kitchen -just a stove and a refridgerator (no cabinets and no sink).
So frustrated today...

Oh, honey, that sounds so frustrating. I can't even imagine. I do know that these sorts of projects always have hiccups and delays which is one of the big reason I'm afraid to even start our kitchen reno. Hopefully, take 3 will be a winner.
P.S. If you really need cabinets that badly, I'll be willing to donate mine.
Oh no!! But like Amy said, 3rd times the charm!!

Thanks for allowing me to vent, girls. I think this process has confirmed that this house is our forever house. I am not gonna go through this again...well we plan on building our retirement home in Dominica...so we shall see!
Anyways, DH just called and said he was speaking to a contractor on his job site so we'll see how that goes.

Hang in there Lawby. I'm a firm believer that these things happen for a reason, so whatever the bank's reason for rejecting him, could mean he has a shady work history and he could have defaulted on his job, while taking off with you and DH's money.?
