Fava bean - friend or foe?
We received a bunch in this weeks farm share delivery, so I took the fava bean challenge and I just don't get the hype. What has the fava done that the chickpea hasn't accomplished.
Plus, the cooking process is a bit much...shuck, boil, blanch, peel, boil and blend (my recipe called for blending). The dip turned out good, but not something I would rave about like on a ton of cooking sites I was reading.

Can't do them...unless its with liver and a glass of chianti.
Seriously though...that makes me not want to eat them - such a gross reference and thought.
