Anyone know how to make labels?

Anyone know how to design a simple label for a baby shower?  I need labels for my sisters favor, I'm doing the little popcorn packs that say "She's Ready to pop"  I'd hate to order them off line and I have no clue where to start in doing them myself.

Thanks in advance

Re: Anyone know how to make labels?

  • I made labels for my wedding OOT bags, candy buffet bags and favors in Publisher (I have pics of them in the planning details section of my bio).

First, I used the shape tool to draw a box (then made it dotted) then put a text box inside of that for the text.

Then  I saved it as a .jpeg, cropped the white part out in ifranview (a photo resizing program, you can download it for free).

I then pasted it in a word document so that I had a sheet of 12 or so.

It took some playing around with it but they turned out nice!

  • Can it only be done in Publisher b/c I don't have that program...can I do it in Work or Works?
  • hmm...I am sure you can do the same thing in word following the steps I did.  Just try playing around with it a bit.

    Good luck!

  • I did a bunch of labels for my wedding as well. I went to www.onlinelabels.com ,picked the kind of label I wanted(round, square, etc.), when your labels come in, go back to the website and they have templates for the style you ordered. Paste in what you want on the label and print! They turned out great for me, I was so mad I realized I could do it myself late in the game, i could have saved more money by not getting some printed professionally! Good luck!
  • Thanks for the website!!
  • Ditto onlinelabels.com.  That's basically what I did for my wedding favors.  We did Johnson's Popcorn in bags I got from Joann Fabrics.  I printed the labels through a template on the website in Word.

I also bought personalized ribbon on Ebay.  I think all of the vendor info and pics are in my Wedding Bio in my blog on the right hand side.

  • Kristen, I have a ton of extra labels, round-shaped, leftover from wedding stuff. There are templates through MS Word that you can use for it. If I can find them, I can give them to you - how many would you need? If you don't want to use them, no worries, just let me know.
  • Erin: Are they the stick on labels?  I was first thinking of doing ones that I can cut out and tie on but I think the sticky ones might be easier. If you have extra that would be great...I probably need 50-60 of them..THANK!!

  • Yes, they're stickers. If you don't use them, you can give them back. No worries... I'll bring them tom.
  • Thanks!!  The lady the does the designs for the gym is going to design them for me so I can just print them onto the labels...it would probably be so much easier then cutting out 50 circles :)
