NWR: Toronto Advice

Hi!

My husband and I are heading to Toronto at the end of the month to see 2 baseball games.  We are looking for other ideas for things to do or places to eat/drink.  We are staying right near the stadium if that helps.  Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Re: NWR: Toronto Advice

  • Check out the following places - distillery district, Royal Ontario Museum, CN tower, Queen street (good shopping), hockey hall of fame, center island, CNE (if you are going to be here when it is on).
  • Make suer to stop by Steamwhistle brewery for a tour & sample, they are in the roundhouse right behind the Rogers Centre. ?
    Left, Right
  • St. Lawrence Market is right near there as well. It has food during the week and on Saturdays (both north and south). On Sunday the north market sells antiques.

Toronto Life is a good resource for restaurants, http://www.torontolife.com/restaurant_search/  just look in the downtown neighbourhood, anything over 2 stars will be worth a visit.

    All of this.

www.toronto.com is a helpful site too for finding out if there are any special events happening the weekend you are in town!

  • I second the distillery district and Steamwhistle (if you're of the beer drinking variety) a good restaurant along the same lines is the Bier Market on the Esplanade which is like 15 mins from Rogers Centre.

Gretzky's is up the road and has never failed me, and it has a great roof top patio.

Toronto Life is a great spot for ideas, but we can give our thoughts once you narrow your choices down too!
