Our bathroom remodel (PIP)

DH's grandfather showed my H how to install the flooring and wainscotting, and my DH did the rest!

Before: (notice the '70s-style pink and blue tile, TP holder, toothbrush holder; ugly medicine cabinet; ugly flooring; ugly vanity)

After: Kohler pedestal sink, brushed nickel accents, white wainscotting, light grey walls (coloring in pic is a little off), slate-like pergo flooring, new moulding, etc.

  • I was looking at your picts on facebook....I LOVE the change it looks so nice.  I love getting rooms done in a house but I have such issues setteling on a paint color!!
  • Looks great!  We currently have your "before" bathroom only the mint green and pink version Tongue Tied.  How much work was it for the re-do?  My DH is really handy and will have my dad's help, but it's the only bathroom in our house.  Think it can be done in a weekend?  Any tips?

  • Aqua, we were in the same situation... only one bathroom as well.

My H demo'd the tile throughout the week (you can see the brown cardboard-looking wall in the one picture), and then on Saturday, my H and his grandfather took out the toliet and sink, installed the flooring, installed the wainscotting behind the sink and toilet, and reinstalled the toilet and new sink. (This was all done in about 8 hours). During the next week, my H finished the wainscotting, installed the mirror, and hung the new light fixtures.

It can be done in one weekend... just takes some planning. I left the house for the majority of the day while H and his grandfather worked.. and I'm glad I did :) GL!
