So, i'm wicked unmotivated at work today, which is making me super bored.
So i'd rather focus on fun stuff!
I want to get some good ideas for date night themes that DH and i can put in a jar and draw out when we're in need of a date night! One i just thought of when i was taking my afternoon walk was a French date night; have a meal at the restaurant Rue 57 in Midtown and then catch a move at The Paris movie theatre a few blocks away!
Others i'm thinking of; greek/mediterranean night (and any other ethnic night will do), sports night, game night, kids night (do fun stuff that only kids get to do, like ride the ferris wheel at Toys R Us), NYC night (pretzels and dogs from a street vendor?), broadway night (not necessarily go see a flippin' expensive show, but something similar...), wine night, arts & crafts night, etc...
And we can take turns planning the nights!
Any other ideas?
TIA!
Re: Need date night themes/ideas!!
ummm....thats a lot of great ideas. you need more??
How about:
picnic night (outside in a park or inside in your living room if its bad weather), beer tasting night, Long Walk night (time out ny has a cool 'long term romance walk' that goes right through sunset park), at home spa date, museum date night

Yea, I concur...excellent ideas. And I just wanted to add to Broadway night...you can always go to tkts and get discounted tickets or go to the box office of a show you would like to see and put your name in for the drawing of cheap, front row seats. Just my 2 cents.
P.S. Unfortunately I don't have anything to add to the pot, but I will be stealing some of your ideas too!
How about an arcade night or something like Buster and Dave's? I think there's an arcade in TImes Square. Your H can try to win you a toy. If you are willing to drive someplace, you can go to Yonkers Raceway to the casino up there. Go to Little Italy for pasta and cannolli. There's the South Street Seaport or just walk around the village . There are also tons of off broadway shows you can go see. The Angelica shows great indy movies.
You can even do a day thing like rowboating in Central Park or take rock wall climbing lessons at Chelsea Piers. If your H likes golf, they also have a driving range there. Go to the Statue of Liberty or the top of the Empire State building. Take a cruise on the Circle Line or find one of those day cruises to Bear Mountain
In the wintertime you can go skating at Rockefeller Plaza or Wollman Rink.
There are so many things you can do other than the typical evening restaurant thing.
