Monday POLL: Summer Projects
Since the summer is coming to a close...are there any projects or things you wanted to get done this summer that you haven't yet?
Re: Monday POLL: Summer Projects
I always have potential projects in mind but right now the summer project we haven't gotten done yet is buying new patio furniture and a new grill (we realized the bottom is rusting on ours...oops!). We had decided to wait until the end of season to get a new grill and did some shopping yesterday but haven't purchased yet. I still haven't found a patio set that I love. Ok...correction I found chairs that I adore at Crate & Barrel but DH wasn't in love with them as much as I was
Next year I'll probably be redoing the landscaping in the back because I'm just not crazy about how it looked this year. I did make progress with the front though and I think its much more welcoming (porch makeover is in my bio).
does dropping 20 lbs count? lol. I didn't get to really focus on anything but work this summer, which is good I guess because at ft job I had two new customers, and pt job was a small business startup, so I can't say I didn't accomplish anything.
I do wish I could have done more around the house though - there is a headboard in my sunroom waiting to be spray-painted black and attached to the bed in our guest room. the sunroom floor also needs to be painted, and we need to actually get our wedding pictures and hang them up!

We did the outside work that the HOA wanted us to do and we bought some patio furniture. We also managed to get a lot of vegetables so far in our little garden. Also on our list was to clean all of the carpet in our house and we did finish that a few weeks ago.
Still on our list though is to repaint a few problem areas in the house and then think about tackling the grout this winter.
We had a big to-do list. We are replacing our roof shingles, siding on "old" part of the house to match the new siding on the addition, adding a deck to the front of the house, setting up the nursery and finishing the addition interior. We've done A LOT, but it's not all finished yet. The new roof shingles are finished and our new master bedroom is done. The siding is about 95% finished. The nursery just got started and probably DH will want to begin the deck as soon as the nursery is ready to go.
DH has done all the work himself. We still have an unfinished master bathroom and walk-in closet in the addition to complete, but on the priority list they fall pretty low. Baby #2 is coming soon (EDD is 5 weeks from tomorrow) so we really need to be ready for her!
I've revised my dining room repainting project deadline from spring to summer, and now it's moved to Thanksgiving. I'm still hoping we'll have thet the torn out bathroom reassembled by September. Cutesguy started tiling the floor this past weekend!
Mine (both of ours) was the nursery, which is essentially done. Just waiting for our glider and ottoman to come in to decide on the final furniture positioning.
In preparing the nursery, we also cleaned out and organized 3 different closets, which gave me a nice sense of accomplishment

DH and I just moved in together for the first time the day we got back form our honeymoon (June 1st), so since then its been all about getting our apt set up. We have a spare bedroom that has become kind of a "dumping ground" for all the stuff we don't know what to do with, so I had intentions all summer of cleaning it up. Of course, between starting a new job, moving to a new city, and studying for my PT board exam (which I found out today I passed!!!!!!!), it never got done.
Hopefully now that the exam is overwith, I will have more time to organize in there, and to add the little accent decorations to the apt that really makes a house look nice.
Congrats on passing the exam TeddyBear!
Thanks, CutesBoots!!
