Re: Super Suppers
We did Dinner Station for a little over a year, and then called it quits. I think as far as this concept, Dinner Station is the most economical. We would get the half size meals that had 3 servings. I never went into the store and prepared my own meals, I had the people there prepare them and I just picked them up and I never was charged the 25.00 for that because I'd always order for the next month when I picked up my meals and they'd waive the carryout fee if you did that. As for the menu, they have some really good dishes, but we got bored of the choices since they put them on the menu like every other month or so, and realistically, they aren't the most nutritional meals for us since they have so much sodium but mainly we no longer eat starches like the pasta and rice that comes with alot of the meals, and we eat chicken/meat that is natural and organic now, and I'm not sure that their's is. The price per meal if you do half-meals comes out to roughly 11.00 a meal at 3.66 per portion or so, so it's a pretty good price for convenience.

I did the meals from them a few times before I moved. I would go in and make them myself (so you could tweak the recipes a bit- leave out things like mushrooms if you aren't a fan, add a tad more cheese- you know). I found that they were nice to have on hand in the freezer for nights I came home from work and was exhausted. I got a little tired of the options they offered though.
I basically have just done this on my own here. I wanted to have some dinners on hand for after the baby gets here, and I know I'll be exhausted. I found several recipes online and have made them and stored them. I know we will have friends drop things off and my parents will be here to help for about 3 weeks, but after that, it will be nice to have some meals on hand, ready to go when I'm tired and after DH goes back to work.
