Rec. a restaurant for my 1st anniversary

Our anniversary is coming up in 2 weeks and I'd like to make a reservation for dinner.  Someplace nice and romantic, preferably steak, seafood, American or Italian.  I'd love to surprise DH with dinner and a night in the city.  Please help!  We've never been out in Philly and I'm clueless!  Thanks, girls!

Re: Rec. a restaurant for my 1st anniversary

  • Sorry I'm not too familiar with restaurants in Philly but I use the Open Table website to make reservations a lot and we've found a few new places to try through there. It breaks it down by food type, neighborhood, and price.

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
  • Capital Grille

    Bellini Grill

There are alot of nice places in the theater district too.

  • We went to James for my bday this year. It's in the Bella Vista area. They have a website - just google it. It's AMAZING!

I also love McCormick & Schmick's, Ruth's Chris, and Waterworks.

  • The melting pot is always our classic fall back.  Triumph brewing is in olde city.  It's nice and the food is AMAZING!  I second Bellini Grill as well.
  • Ditto Waterworks...never been, but I heard it's fantasic.
  • Ooh Waterworks. They were at the Food & Wine Fest in AC this weekend. Their sample made me want to go there to try it out.

  • Waterworks is AMAZING! It's also a great place to just have drinks.
  • Amada is a tapas place in old city. I've never been there but tapas is fun and you could roam around old city afterwards.

Devans is a seafood place in Rittenhouse square. We went there for New Years, great place.

  • I second Devon, my fav place in the city.
  • Amada is my favorite restaurant in Philly. For steak I'd check out Capital Grille or Delfrisco's. I also love Buddakan - which is like Asian fusion. Italian - I know there are some good ones in South Philly that I haven't been to. I have a couple on my list to try:L'Angelo Ristorante Italiano at 1415 W Porter, and Dante & Luigi at 762 S 10th St.
