Questions for moms

Where were you when you water broke?

Did you have time to go home and change?

How long after was your baby born?

Re: Questions for moms

  • Walking with DH, trying to get my labor to speed up-it worked!

For the few days around my due date I always wore an overnight maxi, that prevented a major mess, but I definitely had time to change at home. (we were near our house and the hospital is only about 10 minutes away)

    about 8 hours later.

  • I was overdue, so the doctor broke my water and then 8 hours later I still had not had the baby and was not dialated enough so I ended up having a C-Section. But you normailly have plenty of time to go home and change. Once your water breaks the contractions become more intense but if you can hold out on going to the hospital the longer the better. My birthing coach said that until your contractions are 5 min there is no need to be uncomfortable in a hospital bed.
  • I was in bed (around 6am), I had just gotten up to go to the bathroom and my water broke. Called the dr., had the time to shower and change and head to the hospital. Sasha was born a little before 11pm that day.

This is exactly my story, too.

  • never broke on its own.  dr. broke it in the hospital after 20-some hours of labor!

i guess the 2nd question doesnt apply!

about 7-8 hours after water broke baby came (along with some pitocin too!)
