How much do you spend on groceries?
I was reading MM and someone was saying she's reduced her spend to $85 a week for her + husband. I don't think we EVER get below $130! Of course we buy lots of snacky/frozen food and I also cook a lot more than we go out, but I just thought it was interesting. I don't think we'll ever get below $100.

I *think* we spend $100 or less per week. I've been trying not to buy snacky foods and I cook almost every night.
and, uh, $20 of that may or may not be spent on beer.
on a typical week, i probably spend $50-$75 on groceries - that doesn't include any toiletries or cleaning products. i do a lot of shopping at f'in sleazy and target, where i've found a lot of groceries for cheaper than the regular grocery store. and i've cut down on a lot of our premade/frozen food purchases aside from veggies.
it also helps that we have a well-stocked pantry and buy meat periodically in bulk at costco, so i almost always have whatever i need in the freezer.
I disagree. If you make enough money, there's no reason to eat like a pauper.

We eat dinner out at least 2x a week, and DH never brings his lunch to work, but I almost always do. Not including alcohol, I probably spend about $50 to $75 a week now because of all the fish, lean cuts of meat, fresh fruits and veggies. I've pretty much stopped buying a lot of the processed and packaged meals, which has raised the cost of my lunches. I've also been buying organic/cage free/hormone free eggs and other products so it's bumped up the cost too.
When I looked at July, I spent about $220, but DH was gone for 10 days of that and I went to Farmer's market once and bought veggies and fruit on sale at Henry's and Ralphs when I could.
DH probably spends at least another $100-$150 a month for groceries too, not including alcohol. But he gets fancier than I do with buying products.
True, but I don't think all those folks in Bumblefuck grasp that concept.
Holy cow, Wan, AND you cook during the week and have 4 people!
I guess it's worth the extra money because I just can't cook during the week. I'd rather stock up TJ's so I can eat within 5 minutes as soon as I get home.
To your point, star, just last week I bought queso, Parmesan, cheddar, and Muenster cheeses. I can't resist!
I guess I'll answer the question to the best of my ability.
I don't cook, so our grocery bill is practically zero. The only things we'll buy are water and SoBe Lifewater (which everyone should try because it is the best zero-calorie drink known to man). Occasionally, we might get some prepared foods, but even that's rare.
Our food budget goes primarily to restaurants, be it sit-down or takeout. The dirty secret in the Monkey household is that Mr. Mo buys a lot of stuff at lunch (cheaper), puts it in the fridge (he goes home during lunch nearly every day), and we eat it for dinner.
Do you guys shop for groceries separately?

it does sound kind of crazy when spelled out like that, huh? well, remember that every other week, when the teen is home, we eat vegetarian - and that's really so much cheaper. and we give the bean whatever we're eating.
but i've found that cooking at home is SO much cheaper than eating out. we still go out regularly, but usually with the ILs and they always pick up the check
and even when i decide to splurge and pick up some lobster or steak, it's usually on sale and i still manage to stay within budget.
TJ's is cheap, even their prepared stuff!

Ok I looked again and for April through June, I averaged $350 a month on groceries, not including alcohol or household items/paper items. And not including Costco bought food.
Damn.
Our varies (budget went out the window when I got pregnant & couldn't stand cooking for four months) but right now it's probably in the neighborhood of $225-250 a month for us (including dog & cat food, paper goods, cleaning supplies). That of course doesn't factor eating out which we do a few times a week.
I (gasp) coupon (which doesn't take much time in my head and most of my cleaning supplies, boxed goods, etc are nearly free - all of the savings goes towards eating out or back into our savings account), shop multiple different stores for certain things (produce at Wholesome Choice or Sprouts, milk & meats at Costco, etc). We buy snacky/frozen foods but usually after coupon we're talking a dollar or two.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
We spend around $200 a month in groceries. We spend about $550 a month on all food (restaurants, fast foot, etc), groceries, and starbucks.
The stuff I count as groceries just means I bought them at the grocery store. Doesn't matter what it is.
Also, we've been remodeling our kitchen for almost 2 years now.
I'm finally going to have a finished kitchen at the end of this month. At least, that's the goal.
I easily spend less than $100 a week, if you don't count alcohol, it probably averages to about $50-75/week
I buy produce from Henry's on sale and/or Growers Direct. We buy meat on sale and/or from Costco. We also buy eggs, romaine and broccoli from Costco - CHEAP. We rarely, if ever, buy processed food, and if we do, it's because it is on sale AND I have a coupon.
