Ok now tell me all the fun stuff in San Diego?

Thanks to D's coaching I got an AWESOME deal on a 4 star hotel in downtown SD. I know Gaslamp is a given and we'll probably do the BodyWorks exhibit.

What else is good times in that area? Any cool specific places? I know you guys have some good restaurant recs ;)

Re: Ok now tell me all the fun stuff in San Diego?

  • Are you going this weekend?  We are going to a Padres game one night and going to the Wild Animal Park one day.  I don't know what else we're doing, but Mr. Mo has ideas.

If you're interested, maybe we could go to the Park together.  If not, no worries.

    Smile

  • FUN! Yes we are going this weekend!
  • fun! We are staying at the W in the gaslamp next weekend. Go to the track at Del Mar. It's a great experience and a beautiful track =)

We liked La Puerta for their Happy Hour. Carne Asada Fries & TJ dogs. They also had some killer drinks mmmm......

Near Del Mar we like the Pacifica Breeze cafe for breakfast. Cute place, good food, great view.

next weekend we will be at the Track Friday & a Charger preseason game Saturday.

Fridays they have a concert at the track: This weekend is Airborne Toxic Event, next is Common Sense (and Superdiamond is at the end of the month!!! -and Pete Yorn in Sept!)

  • I have never seen super diamond but did see Hot August Nights. Sooo fun.

  • If you're in the mood for some truly mind-blowing seafood, The Oceanaire is a must! SO. FREAKING. GOOD!

The bar at the top of the Marriott is cool, great view of Petco Park and downtown.

    I <3 Gaslamp!

  • Damn!  I was suppose to go this weekend for my friends 30th but it's gonna be too hard with E being gone.  There is a yummy Tapas place above Spaghetti Factory in Gaslamp.  Can't forget the name of it but they have an awesome assortment of Tapas.  We went there before going out for dinner and it was delish.  Lobster Mac n Cheese!  mmm!

We were going to go to the Padres game on Saturday.  Bummed I cant go.   I don't think you guys are into country but there is an awesome Country bar called Double Deuce.  Hmmm what hotel are you staying at?

  • Eat lunch at The Prado at Balboa Park.  Sit outside.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

Love the how specific you were. lol.Yes

  • If you're going to the Wild Animal Park, depending on from which direction, we usually stop in here & get sandwiches: http://www.yelp.com/biz/rock-n-jennys-italian-subs-escondido. I grew up in San Diego & I have yet to find a place to that makes better subs.

Also if you're into the Zoo & Wild Animal Park, you may want to consider getting annual passes. http://www.sandiegozoo.org/membership/index.html For $84 (which you can purchase online & pick up your temp. passes and coupons at the gate) you get unlimited access to the zoo, park, free sky tram at the Zoo, free Journey into African tours at the WAP, two free guest passes, and all sorts of other goodies. With each park normally running about $35 per person, if you visit twice+ a year this a great deal.

  • if you want sushi on the way back home, stop at samurai in solana beach (it's right off of the 5).  if you do go, get the chef special - you will not be disappointed!
