Annivesary Trip?

Is anyone planning on doing a trip for their 1 year?  If so, do you know where yet?

With DH gone, I'm bored so I was looking into different options as we do want to take a trip for our 1 year.  One of our reasons for waiting to have kids is so we can travel.  We really liked the adventure/activity part of our honeymoon so we're looking for something similar.  I'm thinking maybe southwest Florida.

Re: Annivesary Trip?

  • Our anniversary will be Memorial Day weekend, and I have already booked a long weekend away to Vermont.  We are going back to the place where we got engaged.  Not exactly a vacation away but it will be nice.  We wanted to plan something more, but since we are trying to have children we didn't want to plan anything too far away or too long just in case.

  • Oh, and southwest Florida is my favorite part of Florida!  I have been to Marco Island about 8 times and it is my favorite vacation spot!

  • We're not going anywhere as of now. We have a wedding the night before. I think my parents want to do an anniversary party like they did for my sister. We are planning a trip to Boston for next summer though.

  • I would like to go somewhere, but we don't really have anything planned yet.  We didn't go on a HM, so we're hoping to go on a trip soon as a postponed HM....we're thinking maybe an Alaskan cruise (we've heard they're awesome), but not sure yet.

  • dh and i are going back to jamaica where we got engaged. our trip is three fold.

1-the place we went to for our honeymoon was horrid

2- we are waiting until our one year TTC

3- my parents 20yr is the following month so we are also sending them there as well..

i loved couples ocho rios (now known as tower isle) it was the perfect place for him to propose and so it seems fitting we go there for our anniversary.

  • We're going back to Kauai for our one year of the vow blessing and reception.  We're going to go somewhere for our actual marriage anniversary, but we aren't sure where yet.
  • We haven't even gone on our honeymoon yet.  We leave Sunday.
  • We've been contemplating returning to our HM location (EPM - Mexico), but it all depends on whether I'm KU or not by then.  Stick out tongue  All-inclusive isn't really worth it when you can't drink!
  • I hadn't really thought about it but we probably will. We are waiting until our 1 year anniversary to TTC so that may be a good way to kick it off...haha
  • We haven't had our HM yet either-less than 40 days to go!  We already have a trip in the works for just after Xmas 2010 with my mom and niece and I know there will be tons of trips cheerleading season, so we won't be having an anniversary trip.
  • We are planning a trip for our 1yr. anniversary.  Most likely we will return to our honeymoon destination (Mexico).  We loved it and they give you 2 free nights when you book 5 nights for your 1 yr. anniversary.
  • We are tentatively planning one as of right now.

My sister and her bf are planning on getting engaged around Christmas and if that happens they are thinking early fall destination wedding.  If this happens (which I hope it does) then that will be our major vacation for next year.

Perk is that I think I have talked her into getting married where we had our honeymoon!!  We loved it : )

  • We don't have anything planned, but I'd like to spend a week or long weekend at the beach where we got married.  It's only 4.5 hours from here so we actually go down there several times a year with friends, but it'd be nice to go just the two of us (maybe start working on the 3 of us by then! Wink)

DH and I would LOVE to take an Alaskan cruise. Do it if you can!

We don't have anything planned as of right now, but like pp said, we'd like to do some travelling before we have kids. We're planning to have kids within the next 2-3 years.

  • We know we're going somewhere next summer, but it will definitely not be on our anniversary. Unfortunately the 7-17 of every month is H's busy time at work, so that rules a trip on our anniversary (the 16th) out. I imagine we'll either go to FL alone or we might go to Vegas with our friends, something they've been talking about doing.
  • We haven't really thought about it.  I'd love love love to go back to the cabins that we stayed at during our HM, but they don't take reservations that far in advance.  So we have untill January to decide if we want to, haha.

I would love to go on an Alaskan cruise, I'd deff do it!!  My Dad went up there to fish and the pictures and videos he brought home were beautiful!

  • We are going to do an Alaskan Cruise. 2 couples we know just got back and loved it. Two cruise lines are running a great deal right now so we might book depending if DH gets the job he has interviewed for. His company has also picked up so thanks for the vibes!

Do you mind if I ask what cruise lines and where are you finding the deals?  My parents are thinking about doing that for their 25th.

  • What is your email. I will email you what I have. I found going through Vacations To Go that we got more on board credits than from booking with the line its self. but if you tell them the deal the line is offering on its web site they usually can book it for under that. My In laws are really big cruisers.

  • We're planning to go to the Bahamas for our one year anniversary.
  • We talked about doing this - probably going to Mexico if we do decide to go ahead with it as we were going to go there for the HM, but ended up rebooking to Aruba instead because of all the stuff going on there in May.

It'll all depend on if we're prego by that time or not though.  Guess we'll see what happens this fall/winter before we know for sure!!

  • DH wants us to go back to Savannah, Georgia where we honeymooned for our anniversary. It was a beautiful place and we really loved it. If we do go back I think we would only stay for a weekend though maybe.. we pretty much summed it up in 3 or 4 days on our HM. I would like to go on a cruise but I doubt that will happen. My dad is wanting to take my sister and her family and me and DH to Disney World in the summer of 2011. I will finally be out of school then so we are trying to save up for that to. I have never been to Disney World and would really like to go lol. I know I'm 22 and a little old, but hey you're never to old for Magic. Lol maybe we will get some magic while we are there Wink lol me and DH have been talking and we are going to start TTC end of next yr and 2011 I think because I will be out of school and hopefully things will just be better for us then...

Disney is wonderful at any age(I'm 34 and h is 30), if you let it be.  That's where we are going on our HM and we can't wait.  There is so much more than theme parks there--really not just for kids.

  • Yes!  Hubby and I can't wait for our 1 year!  We are either going to Miami (to relax on the beach) or Vegas!  Also, I will graduate with my Master's Degree the day before our 1 year, so this will be a graduation/anniversary getaway!
  • Yea I have never been before and H has been only once. I have never flown, been on a cruise, or been to Disney lol.... Out of all three he promises to take me to Disney one day. We had first thought about going there for HM but didnt really have the money, we were going to stay on site. And we will be driving when we do go. He is terrified of planes he has flown before but for some reason says we are not flying so it will take us 12 hours to get there.

I'm not sure where you are, but we are driving from PA.  We're stopping in St. Augustine on the way, which we're both excited about as well.  The great thing about Disney(always stay on property) is that it can be very affordable--we have the free dining plan, but even without it you can put down a deposit, make small payments along the way and only have to pay 45 days before you go.  My mom has already started saving for our Xmas 2010 trip.

  • We are not planning a trip for our anniversary per se, but we are planning a trip to Italy next year.  I'm going to call that our anniversary trip!
