Anyone read the Time Traveller's Wife?

My mom just leant it to me and I'm going to start reading it.

 Any opinions?

Re: Anyone read the Time Traveller's Wife?

  • I have it right now and am trying to read it, but really struggling to get it going. I've heard that it's not the easiest read but once you get into it, it's really good. I'm hoping to give it a better chance on the weekend when I have minimal distractions - the GO train is not a good place for that book I'm learning.
  • It is one of my all-time favourite books, I loved it soooo much!

  • I absolutely loved it.
  • LOVED IT!!

It really takes a while until you start understanding what's going on, but once you get it you don't want to put the book down! I think it was only when I got 100pgs or so into it.

I can't wait to go see the movie - I hope I'm not too disappointed :( Usually the book is always better than the movie.

  • I am not a big fiction fan, so I likely won't read the book. But the story has intrigued me, so I'll likely see the movie.

I just read it for the second time.  It's an amazing book.  Hard to get into at first, but persevere; it's so worth it!
  • I'm glad that others found it hard to get into at first. All the back and forth is a bit confusing. I'm excited to keep reading it now.

I saw the commercials for the movie and it looked so romantic I had to read the book. I like romance books, but not those creepy Fabio on the cover romance books!

  • I just picked this up too! I wanted to read it before I see the movie. Looking forward to reading it!
  • I loved it too!
  • I loved it too! Although I like a lot of the pp had a really hard time getting in to it. My sister recommended it, and I remember calling her and saying "really??? it's that good???" to which she'd gush about Henry and Claire and tel me to keep reading.

Anyway, I loved it too! Can't wait to see the movie. Although I think they gave away to much in the commercials (hello Alba's in them!)

  • keep going...it is SO worth it!
  • I read the book years ago when it first came out. It remains one of my favourite books of all time.

It is a little hard to get into because of the constant shifting of stories, and time frames, but it is really worth it in the end.

I'm totally undecided whether to reread it before the movie comes out. I'm thinking I might ruin the book if I have all the details fresh in my mind from the book, since the movie is never as good.

  • Love love love love it. I find anything that's not linear harder to follow sometimes so I just went for the ride on this one. I have no idea how well this is going to translate into film though.
