For the West Shore I'd recommend Teg's Canine Clippery. We see Edna. Lucy has been going there since the end of 07. I've been really happy with them over all and their prices are reasonable. They listen to my specific instructions on how I want her trimmed (she's a mini schnauzer and we keep her beard, legs and skirt longer).
There's only been one time before a holiday when I think they were rushed and Lucy came home with her beard a tad shorter than I would have liked.

My neighbor takes her dog to Bark of the Town, which is located in the Stony Brooke Shopette...near Food Lion. She has a little dog. I've never used them personally but she hasn't complained and takes her dog quite often.
I have friends who have a golden retriever...I can ask where they take her.
