My kitty needs to go to the vet...again
I worry so much about my big Jonesy. He is a Maine C00n, a rather large kitty - I believe Frau has 2 Coons also. Anyhoodles, thankfully, our vet knows alot about the breed, and we've spent the past year fine tuning his diet to ensure that he doesn't encounter kidney problems (which appreantly, they are more suseptable to than other breeds). Last winter Jones was really sick, spent a week at the vet, and we were told to keep an eye on him. The past few days he's been really tired and sucky, and doing alot of licking "down there". I am hoping that it's nothing serious, but we're taking himnin tomorrow a.m. to be safe. That poor vet, they don't like Jonesy much. The last time he was there he sent a vet *and* a nurse to the ER!
Re: My kitty needs to go to the vet...again
Poor Jonesy!
I just talked to my vet as I have to take Charley back to be looked at. She has these red marks all over her belly and the vet a few weeks ago said they were due to my pg - and I get that things are changing and the cats know that - but it had just started and I'm almost 7 months in. Needless to say, it's gotten worse so she has to go back, but this time they are going to sedate her because like Jonesy she has sent the hubs to the ER as a result of going to the vet!
I hope everything is OK!
You might want to ask if there are any housecall vet practices in your area.
Our vet comes to the house which is awesome because my guy hates to travel (puke, pee, poop and we've only gone 5 blocks) and hates the vet. So we cut out one. And although he doesn't like her much at least he's not stewing in his crate smelling the vet office so he's not violent anymore. Just wants to escape.
We pay a bit more but it's SO worth it.
My other cat does not handle moves well... when we moved into our house three years ago and then subsequently Adam and I left for three weeks for our wedding/honeymoon she ended up licking bald from the stress! I seriously have 2 messed up cats sometimes. It could be a stress reaction for Jonesy - which would be a nice relief b/c you know it will be over soon!
My old vet used to come to the house, but I'm struggling to find someone that will come out to the new place.
Mrs_Sarah, if you're in the Calgary area I know of two.
I found mine by asking at our old vet clinic, we were moving to the other side of town and I didn't want to make the drive for his check ups and asked if there was anyone they'd recommend in the new area. They suggested I try a house call practice first.
I don't think they were sorry to lose a patient
Thanks but I'm outside of Toronto.
We only go once every 3 years for the rabies shot anyway now so it's not a big deal, but instances like this where something is wrong are few so we will tough it out with the sedative.
