Did anyone use a videographer?

Do you have your video back yet?  I'm so excited to get it, and it's been almost three months and nothing yet!

Have any of you ladies get yours back yet?  I know there's so much editing involved and I'm sure it takes a long time.  ::sigh::  I'll be patient, haha.

Re: Did anyone use a videographer?

  • I'm in the exact same boat as you.  I call him weekly to see where it is.  It's annoying because he has gotten out videos from weddings after ours, but he had almost 12 hours of footage from ours too, so I'm patient to a degree.

  • What does your contract say? Ours said one month and we got the video exactly one month from the day of the wedding.
  • Yes we did and I think it took about 1.5 months to get it.

  • We did, but our situation was a little unique. It was a friend who has worked as a professional, but this was his last gig as he was about to get married himself and then move out of state, so there was no contract with a stated time. So I'm waiting for the edited ceremony video he promised me (very patiently though, because I know he's been busy plus he cut us such a great deal), but he gave me raw footage of everything he recorded just a few weeks after we got married. GL!
  • Yeah, we got ours back in 8 weeks.
  • Our videographer said it would be 10-12 wks before we got ours back. So I'm hoping to get it in the next couple of weeks! I haven't even bothered to call him because I know that he's super busy and will get it finished as soon as he can. I would hate to interrupt his creative process :o)  But he's also been giving me little updates on FB, so I'm not worried.
  • We got our HD DVDs about 3 weeks after the wedding, and the bluray disc the week after that.
  • I did not have room for one in the budget, but unbeknownst to me, a guest took tons of video (maybe 3-4 hours) and is putting together something for me. I haven't seen any of it yet - if it hits the 6 month mark, I'm just going to ask her for the raw footage at the very least.

  • I had mine back in 3 weeks with recap. They are the fastest in the area but the guy turned jerk post wedding, so I am happy the product was at least good.

  • We didn't have it in our budget, but as a surprise for me DH had my SIL videotape the ceremony and important parts of the reception (cake cutting, dances, entrance, etc.), so we didn't have to wait to get our copy.
Hope you get your's soon and that it turns out great!
  • I'm still waiting for mine.  But it was shot by a family friend (who is a professional) and is notoriously late with the videos.  So I'm not holding my breath.  We'll get it when we get it!  At this point I'm hoping we get it by our first anniversary!
  • I'm still waiting on mine and the contract said 4-8 weeks.  I e-mail him weekly.  He said I'd have it 4th of July and then he said he'd have it done this past weekend.  Nothing yet....Angry
