Re: POLL # 1
II loved this stroller but, it was too expensive and we would have had to buy the car seat separately
I've just started looking, but so far, I like the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel System - Utopia.
http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=3452534
It comes with the SnugRide 32 infant seat. The snugride seems to be rated well by consumer reports and I like that it will fit for a while longer (up to 32 lbs) whereas most infant seats cut off at 22.
Some reviews say it's heavy to carry, but I don't know if we would carry it all that much. This might actually be a good thing as with D's back and my neck issues, we really shouldn't be lugging any carrier around to much.
I don't know yet how I will like it, but we got the Bugaboo Frog and the Graco car seat that fits in it.... So far so good!
We went with the Bugaboo because it's quite light and folds up quite compact (it's made in Holland, where streets are narrow and lots of cobblestones). We don't have much room in our townhouse, so we like it. It also handles really, really well. (I thought that was a crock until I tested out a few strollers)
I haven't used it yet, but we got the Peg Perego Uno and the Peg car seat. I have two friends with Pegs and they both love them. Two things that were important to me where to have one handle (one handle that goes across the stroller as opposed to two separate handles - does that make sense) and big wheels. The Uno doesn't have huge wheels, but we found that all of the strollers with big wheels would take up too much room in the trunk. One thing I like about the Uno is that the handle moves, so you can have the baby face you or away from you. There are some others strollers that do this, but most don't.
I also liked the UppaBaby and Bumbleride strollers.
We have a Bugaboo Cameleon, and love it. It's still our one-and-only, and still drives wonderfully. We didn't actually consider anything else at all when we were stroller-shopping the first time around. We nearly bought a Bugaboo Bee while we lived in Toronto, but ended up buying a new car instead
This time around, I've got quite a wish-list. I fell in love with an Emmaljunga pram (the Edge Combi Duo with Sport chassis) while we were in Iceland, and now that they have a toddler seat, it might be feasible. I'm intrigued by the new iCandy Peach Blossom, but it is due to launch in the UK first, and still isn't out there. I like the i'Coo Platon Duo, at least in theory. The current obsession is the Mutsy Urban Rider (which I've always been fascinated with), with a Duoseat so it can carry two. If we were to go for a true double, I'm tempted by the TFK Twinner Twist. All of these are, of course, not available in Canada. I think we'll be spending lots of time in baby stores while we're in Germany!!
PS - Bugs aren't actually made in The Netherlands; it's a Dutch company, and Dutch-designed, but the strollers are actually made in Taiwan. I can assure you though that they handle European cobblestones, etc., wonderfully!
I have the graco. ?I love how it folds up so easy but it is a bit big. ?The seat is a beast but what I adore about it is that if you put it in the top of one of those two tiered shopping carts it secures itself so you don't have to use the icky supermarket seats or worry about bringing a stroller into the store. ??
