Re: Thursday Confessions...

  • I was told by a couple family members that I needed to buy a tankini top for our min-vacay this weekend because they feel "wearing a bikini while pregnant is inappropriate and disrespectful."  I happen to think that the pregnant body is a beautiful and natural state and I'm not embarassed about it whatsoever.  Why shouldn't my little bump show?  Double grrr...  Still, I did go any buy a top because I don't feel like getting the side-eye all weekend.

Hm. You are a better person then me. I think id wear a bikini top at least one day just to spite my family. But im mean like that. Then the rest of the time I might wear a tankini so they don't feel uncomfortable around me.

When I was pregnant, I wore a bikini until I delivered except for one day while I was with my moms family who are the same way.

I to think its so cute to see little or big bellies! But you gotta do what you gotta do to keep everyone happy!

  • I just am having problems at my work these days...I dont want to be here anymore.

I want to work from home or part time so I can enjoy this time w/my daughter and finish school faster.

I also am having a candle party and no one wants to come...errr its kinda making me sad.

  • ugh, I dont know why my previous post showed up twice.

I confess that I really hate my job and that I have lost all respect for my two superiors in the last two weeks. I feel like my job is a bad relationship that I can't ge out of. You know that relationship that is bad, and you know its bad but you are comfortable and you don't want to break up because its painful, awkward, and hard.

I want to leave, but I'm not sure what I should do because we are going to be trying to buy a house in about a year. I'm sure how lenders look at job changes when it comes to getting financing for a mortgage?  Plus I looked in our area and no one is hiring that i've found. I am going to keep looking I guess and just see what I can find.

I dont want to make this super long so I won't go into the details of why I have no respect for my supervisors. If you want to know I will share, but it could get lengthy. I've started to write about it several times, but I dont want to come off as whiney & completely bitchy & ungrateful. Im just not sure when to say ENOUGH!

  • Jen, I think you should wear the bikini.  You are very right, the pregnant body is a beautiful thing, show off that bump!  I can't wait to show off mine!

We just found out that we are pregnant!  I'm so excited, but also terrified wondering if the baby is ok, if I'll be a good mom, how we are going to manage things since I know I can't really be looking for a new job (not that the economy is good enough for me to get one anyway).  I'm also scared to tell my mom, I want her to be happy, I know she will be in shock, but I'm afraid to disappoint her.  We have our first appt on the 27th and they will be doing an ultrasound.  I can't wait.

We just found out that we are pregnant!

That is awesome news Kelly!!! I'm soo excited for you!! Don't worry at all, you are going to be an awesome mom and dad!!!  I wouldn't worry about your mom she will, I'm sure, be absolutely thrilled!!!

Jen, girl you need to rock that bikini with your cute baby bump!!! I can't believe your fam would say something to you about it!!!

My confessions: the more I work here the more I find out things about my boss.  Now I have never personally had any problems with my boss, she really seems to like me and jokes with me all the time, but the way she treats my co-workers and stuff really bothers me.  I don't think I kiss ass, but maybe i'm just nice enough to the point where it could almost seem like kissing ass but not really. I dunno. It makes me sad for my co-workers though that they have problems with her.  I mean luckily I don't so that's good for me, but I still feel horrible for them.

Since I've been sick this week I haven't ran since Sunday.  I feel like a LOSER :(  DH told me he wants to start running with me and that would be awesome.  I think we have aspirations of becoming this really active fit couple.  For christmas we both want to get bikes so we can use that as a form of working out on days that we don't run.  I eventually want to get my own kayak and he and I can both go kayaking for fun as well.  This will be really great for us to get into.  I'm gonna start him on the Couch to 5k routine. I'll do it with him even though right now I could run a 5k, but I want him to enjoy it like I do and I'm gonna push him every step.  I hoep we can run races together and the like. That would be amazing!

    Big Smile YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Party!!!

Kelly, I'm so, so happy for you guys!  What wonderful news!  You are going to be a great mom...all of that worry is normal and just comes with being pg.  I think it's natures way of preparing women for the worry of parenting over the next lifetime.

When you posted the other day I had a strong feeling that this would be the news!  Are you feeling okay right now?  How far along do you think you are?

  • Thank you girls for all the support!  I wanted to bust out with the news the other day, but I promised DH I wouldn't.  He acutually almost spilled the news to my mom today when he saw her.  I'm about 4 1/2 weeks.  I feel ok, I was nauseous yesterday, but feel better today.  I am very excited and can't wait for our first appt.  Right now it looks like I could potentially be sharing my birthday, which is fine by me!
  • Glad you're feeling well.  If you need anything at all, let me know!

  • Oh my goodness, I have meeting out of the office for a few days and suddenly I'm missing everything around here.

Kelly - Congratulations!!!!Big Smile That is SO exciting and fabulous. You guys will be great parents. And, I think worry is very normal. I hope your Mom is as excited for you guys as we all are!!

I can't believe we already have two Feb 09 knottie babies coming!! I nearly feel like an aunt all over again.

Jen - I agree. Rock the baby bump in a bikini. You could maybe bring both a bikini and tankini and wear both if you want. Most of all - do what makes you feel best!

Megan - I hope you'll be fully recovered soon. Being sick is crappy:) It's awesome of you to run with DH and start out slow. I hope you're able to get the bikes. DH and I recently have started biking a lot more together and are very much enjoying it.

Jena - I hope things get better at work. I SOO feel your pain about being stuck in a crappy job. My advice is still to stick it out until you find something better. (My DH used to tell me that all the time when I hated my previous job. It wasn't fun, but I'm also glad that I didn't give up and just become unemployed.) GL!!

Now that this is super long, my confessions.

    1) I swear my AF gets more painful and wretched every time. I know that's TMI, but I'm feeling just ill right now so that's what's on my mind. My lovely bcp's don't seem to help too much, but at least I only deal with it once every 2 or 3 months.

    2) DH isn't terribly happy at work. His parents  always find the bad in things and are not supportive. It is hard to work with them. period. We both love the farm, but I wish I could do something to help the family situation. It's so hard to see how badly his own parents sometimes treat him. (It does make me grateful for how great my parents are:) Luckily, we are generally good at not taking any of this out on each other. Instead, we talk about it and get closer because of it, I think. And, it does make me happy that he looks forward to the evening because then I'm at the farm with him:)

  • Kelly that is wonderful news (and what I was hoping for the other day when you mentioned it!)!!!!!!! Congrats chica! So exciting! And I understand you on the mother situation. Kevin's parents can't wait, and my whole family is like, "oh no don't have babies" so I would be a bit apprehensive too.?

    ?In related news....?

Hallelujah! My period finally came today, only a month late! So glad too because I have been having a crazy summer. For 3 weeks running, I was peeing on a stick just in case because I knew I would be going out and drinking. If it happened that I was pregs, I would be excited, but I know its not really the right time for us right now, and since the tests were negative but there was still no aunt flo, it was uber annoying. ?
