Any lawyer recommendations for a speeding ticket?

Does anyone have any recommendations for an attorney to help with a speeding ticket?

Re: Any lawyer recommendations for a speeding ticket?

  • Where did you get the ticket?
  • Why fight it?? Why not just pay the fine?

  • Look for any technicalities...  was the time recorded correctly?  date?  etc...  those can get you out of it without much fight.

Otherwise I'm not sure I'd fight it, but that's just me.  I don't know any lawyers either.

  • Not sure what the situation is here, if it's really about the ticket or something that happened at that point. You didn't ask for this opnion, but if you were speeding, just pay it. Keep in mind the cost of the lawyer and compare it to how much the ticket costs, it may not be beneficial to fight it.
  • My husband got the ticket right outside of Cincinnati on Hwy 32 near Mt Orab in Brown County.
  • Does he have to show up for a court date? I know in some jurisdictions (usually in Kentucky), if you get a speeding ticket in a school or construction zone they will make you go to court but you just pay the fine and go home.
  • Are you not telling us something because most people don't go to this much effort over a speeding ticket.  Seriously, unless he did something like get a DUI, seriously hurt or killed another  person, or got into some other legal trouble it's not worth it to contest a speeding ticket.  Is something else going on here like pp suggested?  Because if this is a criminal matter other than a speeding ticket then it's a whole other ball game and he needs a lawyer with different skills and expertise than one who might just help him get out of a ticket.  If it really is just a ticket then he doesn't even need a lawyer, all he needs to do is show up for his court date if he wants to contest the ticket.  Is it worth his time to take off of work, drive up here, pay for gas, a hotel, wear and tear on his car, etc?  All that will probably be more than the cost of his ticket and might be as much as your insurance might go up.  But we already told you this in your previous post.

  • If it's just a speeding ticket, just pay the fine and move on.

If he's a professional driver and can't have any more incidents on his MVR, then you may want to consider contesting it but I don't know that it'd get you anywhere cheaply.

  • OP previously said that she wanted it to not hit their insurance so i'm guessing they already have previous issues.

Honestly, tell your H to slow down!

ITA. The best way to avoid having a ticket ding your insurance is to keep your speed under control.

  • I'd be happy to talk to your husband if the ticket was received in Clermont County.  If it's in Brown County, I can refer you to a lawyer.  E-mail me at my personal e-mail at herberga@yahoo.com if you are still interested.  I prefer not to give out my personal business information on this site.
