What to serve with steak

We're having my family and some friends over next Sunday for a BBQ and I would appreciate some suggestions to serve with some delightful steaks. There are 10 of us (including two children).

Re: What to serve with steak

  • Go with seasonal stuff - tomatoes, corn, peppers. You could do a caprese salad and roasted corn on the cob with flavoured butters. Small peppers stuffed with a couscous salad might be good. A platter of grilled veg (zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, peppers) with some pesto might be nice as well.
  • I love having grilled steak with fried mushrooms... and for sides I like grilled veggies (peppers, eggplant, zuchinni), baked potato, caesar salad, and red wine ;)
  • I was going to say grilled veggies, Eggplant, peppers, asperagus, mushrooms, grape tomates, with olive oil and salt and pepper.
  • I love love love grilled zucchini with steak. I usually cut mine in quarters lengthwise, brush with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and grill for about 5-7 minutes. Top them with a dollop of sour cream and chives. Mmmmmmmm.
  • My parents BBQ'd for us here yesterday. My dad made steaks, grilled veggies (zucchini, peppers, onions, cherry tomatoes, eggplant), and we had mini potatoes (also on the grill, in the grill basket), and grilled peaches. MMM
  • Grilled veggies are the best. I recently did rosemary, balsamic potatoes with steak and they were delish (they are in my blog if you are interested).
  • Personally steak without mashed potatoes just isn't the same!
