Frustrated

I have a new credit card and a new banking institution and I went to go pay it online today (the due date) with my new banking institution and I'm not set up for bill paying. Fine I give their customer service a call. Nope can't get set up for a couple of days. So I give the credit card bank a call. They tell me I can pay with a cheque to the ATM. Alright, so I go down. Nope you cannot do that without a bank account at that bank. (The bank is of course closed).

I call their customer service again. They say I have no options now of paying it on time and that I should go in tomorrow morning.

Darn habits from my old bank. I just transfered the money from the account to the credit card without any problems on the due date everytime. I didn't even realize that it wouldn't be that simple with this change.

That being said. Does anyone know the penalty for paying a day late with RBC?

Re: Frustrated

  • It will charge you 1 day of interest on the amount you have due. There will probably be no additional late payment charge if you usually pay on time. After you pay it, call them and tell them you paid it and they should be able to reverse any fees (if there are any).
  • I believe above post is the best way..

After paying it... call credit card company and let them know you have paid it.
I never notice any difference if it is one day past due date...
As long as money is received before the next statement is printed generally 3-4 days after due date.

  • Thanks for your help. I thought I'd have to pay 300 in interest.
