We're hosting my ILs birthday party this Sunday (their birthdays are 3 days apart) and I had planned my entire menu yesterday: Stuffed Shells, Garlic Cheese Bread, etc and then I remembered my 15 month old niece is lactose.
Should I reconsider my menu (I havent gone shopping yet) or would it be rude to ask SIL to bring something for her?
Re: WWYD
Italian stuff is cheap and easy and it keeps. I think if that's what you want to do then I say go for it. BUT then plan something for your niece. Maybe noodles and sauce, no cheese? Or something to that effect.
OR if you feel really bad and want to switch...how about a taco bar. That way she could just skip the sour cream and cheese?
I didn't even pay attention to her age. I don't think she'd eat a taco. You're better off with the noodles and sauce for her.
That had been my thought process exactly.
H just told me his BIL called to ask what we were making just to be sure baby niece can eat it which made me feel bad. I just went through my bookmarked recipes and came across a pulled pork crockpot recipe. I'm thinking I might go that route since its easy and pretty much cooks itself. Although I've never made it but how hard can it be right? I think I might do baked beans and potato salad as side dishes.
Anyone got any good potato salad recipes?
