I was driving into work today and I saw 2 school buses packed with little kids. I assume they are summer camps doing trips but who knows anymore. When do they do back in your area.

    My mom's a teacher and I think she has to go back at the end of this week and then the kids start next Monday!  Crazy - it feels like summer just started!!

    Around here, we don't start until the 24th!  Traffic in this area gets CRAZY when school starts.  So I am counting the days until I have to wake up 30 minutes earlier just to avoid traffic!

    I had to be back to school last Thursday, and today was the first day for our students.  I'll be glad when we've been back at it for a couple of weeks--it's been a CRAZY day, as the first day always is!Stick out tongue

    Grade schools: Aug. 25th

    University: Aug. 24th.

    My brother's school (he's a 7th grade teacher about two hours away from here) starts on Aug. 19th.  They end before Memorial Day next year, which was shocking to me...

    Rock: I think thats for the public schools because the catholic grade schools and high schools all go back on the 17th, as does Owens. I was surprised that the summer is over for them so quickly but the girls are actually looking forward to going back to school.

    Here in this area of PA, they start school on the 31st, but in NJ they start after Labor Day.  I can't imagine starting so early.

    Ours start back up on the 26th, and I've almost finished the back to school shopping!  There's just something so wrong about buying sweaters and warm clothes in 90 degree weather!

    I go back on Monday.  The heathens, er, kids come back the 24th. Big Smile Seriously, I'm ready to see them though.  Not ready to see my administrators though.

    Different times in my area.  The private school down the street starts on Aug 24th.  I (i'm a student teacher this year) start teachery stuff on the 24th and kids start the next week.  YIKES!

    Here in NJ we don't go back until after labor day, but we don't get out of school until the last week in June- BLEH

    In Michigan, it's actually illegal for the school year to start before Labor Day. So, for the students, the first day is Sept. 8th. I start on Sept 1st....
