Sooo... I have been tracking my weight for exactly one year. I have been working out pretty steady.... but I have put on 10 pounds!!! YIKES!!! This past 2 weeks I was on vacation and Vegas so I put on 5 of those pounds during vacation, so hopefully those 5 lbs I can drop right away.
I'm 5'9" so 162 isn't shockingly huge or anything. It's at the top end of the "normal" range for BMI. But I need to get my butt into gear!! I would love to be 150 again... 145 even better. I want to be fit to keep healthy, but I also want to look good. Anybody have weight, exercise or eating-healthy goals?
Re: Whoah I'm 162 pounds
How do your clothes fit?
I lost my first 10 of 15 pounds and then stuck there. Working out a lot, eating right, but no weight loss. However, my clothes fit better and I've gone down a size so i've decided to ignore my weight as long as I continue to look toned. They say muscle is heavier then fat, we are doing weights and I'm able to lift more then when we started and feel better. Yoga and pilates have been really working for me as well.
yeah my clothes are maybe only a bit tighter, definitely not 10 lbs tighter, I am more toned and have more muscle from the swimming (my upper body had no tone at all before). I want to lose some pudge though :P That's a great outlook on your weight, good job Kmap!
I've been pretty bad too. And now that I'm doing my Wii fit, I'm watching my BMI rise up slowly - not good.
I eat like crazy. I just got home from teaching dance and I had a turkey sausage (with all the condiments), salsa and tortilla chips and some ice cream. Yeah. I did. No, I am not pregnant. I'm just bad.
I'll join you on a health nut challenge if you want! I'm down for that
Let me know - we can do food diaries (this I definitely need to do to keep myself on my toes - it's what stops me from bad snacking and late night eating).
I thought I'd echo the condiment idea. My sister and her husband are health NUTS - he's an all natural professional body builder, so their diets are really strict.
My sister was already fit and healthy when they started dating, but soon after, cut out almost all condiments. She pretty much only uses olive oil, vinegar, pepper and herbs (no salt ever), mustard and hot sauce. The change in her body just from dropping condiments was incredible. Even the ones that don't have a lot or any fat are usually loaded with high fructose corn syrup, so the nutrition label can be pretty deceiving.
