Date night/day?

HI fellow CT nesties,

my husband and I are looking fun things to do for dates over the weekend, we are not local to CT is there any places that are a must see or go to, or a favorite date you would like to share?

Thanks

Re: Date night/day?

  • What part of CT are you from?  I used to love going to Mohegan Sun.  DH doesn't like to gamble though so I haven't been there in years Sad

  • Ditto Mohegan...check out the Tuscan Grill there for dinner.  Also, you could go to the Mystic Aquarium, see if there's a musical or other show at the Bushnell in Hartford, visit some wineries on the CT Wine Trail (google for more info and website for all wineries), or hit up antique shops scattered throughout Litchfield County.

  • I live close to Uconn Storrs, CT but we don't mind traveling around the state, just looking for fun date nights/weekend things to do.
  • Ditto to the wine trail!!!

There are several places you can go hiking - (Hueblin Tower, Rails to Trails in the Farmington Valley, Resevoirs etc.) The casino is a great time (worth the ride!!! - there are so many good bars or restaraunts there, you can have fun even without gambling....) Also, this won't work right now - but come the fall, I highly reccomend hitting up some UCONN football games!

Also, Boston is not a far ride for you (probably an hour and a quarter...) tons to do up there - even if just for the day.... Red Sox games are also a BLAST!

I live in West Hartford, it's a great area  with tons of shopping, restaraunts and bars - easy place for a date night.... Also, you should try Evergreen Walk - similar area but closer to you.......

Dowtown Hartford also has some good restaraunts, but the nightlife there  has really gone downhill. There are a couple of comedy clubs - Funny Bone in Manchester and City Steam in Hartford....

Hope that is a good starting point for you! I love a good date night - but for me, that's usually just dinner and a few drinks!

  • Thanks for all the good ideas, we will definatly have a few fun date nights now. I'm going to take a look at the link later tonight.
  • I love the idea of the wine trail, we actually did that last week.  It was a great day out.  Bring a Picnic lunch and enjoy the little bit of summer we have left.
