Chef Point Cafe in Watauga
I don't know if you've heard of it, but my DH's sister is in town and had seen it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives - it's a great restaurant...in a gas station. We went last night and the service was exceptional as well as the food. It was only 15 minutes from downtown FW where we live. The only thing is that they don't take reservations and it was very busy last night so I can't even imagine a weekend. The waitress said that their business has tripled since it was on the show. I guess CNN was there last week doing a story.
Just wanted to share - www.chefpointcafe.org

Re: Chef Point Cafe in Watauga
Someone posted about it on here around the time that the DD&D episode was going to air. I've been wanting to try it ever since. Just need to make it a point to head over to that side of the metroplex.
What did you order?
Sorry about posting again, I must have missed that.
I had the Salmon Pasta dish - soooo good. The only person who wasn't in love with their meal was the person who got the chicken parm.
Oh, no prob! I'm sure there are lots of others on here that didn't see it either. I just make it a point to read all of the posts that have to do with restaurants since I love trying new places
And I'm glad to hear you like it too!
Everything is very rich and heavy. Gipper'sGirl - I'd wait til it cools off a little. When we went in June it was HOT (very small w/ exposed kitchen) + hot food. We did have to scoop out several spoonfuls of butter from our leftovers (after the sauce separated the next day) but eating it fresh was just rich and goooooooooood.
Lobster Bisque soup (served in a bread bowl)
Shrimp Scampi (rich, buttery deliciousness)
Crab stuffed artichoke hears (app.)
next on the list to try:
crab stuffed pork chop (same filling as artichoke app) or chicken breast
BREAD PUDDING! you cannot go to Chef Pointe Cafe w/o trying the bread pudding.
My mouth is watering. Lobster bisque in a bread bowl sounds so good!
