Re: POLL: Wedding Albums...

  • none of those really apply to us. but i chose anyways. Our photog went through our pics and chose the best ones, then she just gave us a disc of all of those. i didnt want her to photoshop anything..... i really liked her, but she photoshopped to much ...there was a pic in her studio of a boy i went to school w/ that was killed not to long ago, and you couldnt even recognize him bc she photoshopped him so much. so i just asked for the raw images and my mom photoshopped what was necessary. but honestly i loved the raw images =)    I have half of our photos in a regular album I had...i am still looking for the perfect beach wedding album...

  • Part of our photography package was a lovely leather bound and matted album. We got it back about a month ago, and it's a beautiful keepsake. I also have the proof book and another album with candids and snapshots.

Note - I basically arranged the album with mats and then picked out most pics. I made notes about pics to ask DH about, and we spent about 1/2 hour making final decisions. If I hadn't coordinated the picking out, we would surely not have an album yet. Now.. we still have to pick out some enlargements because we get a combo of 5x7's or 8x10's with our package. I tried to get DH to help me pick last night, but to no avail.

  • Further note - DH is wonderful, but sifting through multiple wedding photos and proofs for hours just isn't his style:)

  • Our package included a leather bound, flush mount 30 page album with up to 120 pics....holy cow!  The thought of choosing those photos out of over 900 is so overwhelming that we keep putting it off.  I'd love to have the wedding album in our hands before this baby arrives (especially since it's already paid in full!)

  • Jen - I agree with you 100% It was overwhelming to pick for the album. Being a bad employee, I actually spent some of my last 2 weeks at my previous job going through proof on the internet and making a tenative plan/list for the album. Then, DH and I made a few joint tweaks, and we had it ordered.

It's a fun process, but it quite time consuming.

  • I just got mine last week! It took me forever to figure out what pictures I wanted in there. I still have to pick out the pictures out that I want printed...but I am waiting on my mom to pick hers out. I have mine picked out, the only thing I have to pick is a good pic of us to send as gifts for christmas.

  • We actually JUST handed in our choices to the photographer this past week. I think I just sat down and picked out all the pics for our album by the first 2 weeks with the pictures, but then figuring out which ones we wanted enlarged and for other people has taken longer. Our package was our album and 2 parent albums w the same pictures and we could choose 100 out of about 450. Then 1 16x20 for us, 3 11x14 (both sets of parents and one for us) and 2 "brag books" that hold 10 pics each.?

  • our package includes all retouched images online, on disc, and an album. The photographers asked us to select our favorites from the finished images they have on the website (and they would add more from there)

We just submitted our faves 2 weeks ago. MIL is being a PITA about this whole thing, because we've already paid for 3 books, all identical, but she wants her own book with photos that she selects! (she thinks there are no good pics of her on their site). Finally the photographer said that she could create her own book, and part of the cost would be covered by what we already paid. It should be sometime within the next couple weeks that we are able to preview it and make our final edits.

  • Unfortunately our package didn't come with and album but came with lots of prints instead.  My mom and I halved the package.  I have our prints but haven't had the time to put into an album yet, we do have our 11x14 hanging in our bedroom though.  I would love to order an album from my photog but it's $500 and well I got the copies of all the pics on a disc so i might be doing somethign different.  We'll see.
