Re: Where is a good cupcake/cheesecake/bakery near the Mason area?
There's a Busken on the corner of Mason Montgomery & Reading Rd (Rt 42) in downtown Mason.
There is also another bakery (I dont know the name) on Snyder Rd inbetween Tylersville & Rt 42..... right by the Post Office.
I have never been to either one.... so I don't know if they are good.... but they are close by
For cheesecake I recommend J. Annette's in West Chester (on Rt. 42 at Dimmick)--they did our wedding cake and we love them! In fact, I think it's about time we went back for a mini...cheesecake sounds good today!
I think bakery on Snider PP is thinking of is Sweet Sinsations? We got muffins & donuts from there once for a work even that were very good.

I live in Maineville, near Mason and I haven't found a place "nearby" that knocked my socks off yet. If you are willing to drive a bit, you might check out these places.
Also, for what it's worth I tried the BonBonerie's cupcakes a few weeks ago. I adore everything there but I was really disappointed with their cupcakes.
Yes it's called Sweet Sinsations. Their tea cookies there are AWESOME! I've also heard they have good donuts.
