I am considering getting my masters here.I would appreciate any feedback.

 Thanks

Re: Who went to UC

  • i spend a lot of time on the campus (not as a student, as a vendor) and think it's very very nice.  I have some contacts in the Graduate Programs office if you want to speak with anyone.
  • I did my BA and MA there, and I'm trying to finish up my PhD. What program are you interested in?

  • I went to UC for my JD.   I had a very good experience there.  But the law school is sort of a little world to itself.  You spend all your time in one building, with the same small group of people.  And the law school is on a different schedule than the rest of the school, so that adds to that as well.

  • I went there for undergrad (engineering).  I was there during the construction period (aka UC = Under Construction) and by the end they were done and it's beautiful.  The campus is a vibrant community and it's very walkable.  The co-op program was the main draw for me and the curriculum is top notch.  My only watchout is that they are moving from quarters to semesters I think in 2011 or 2012 so not sure how that will impact courses/graduation.
  • I got my BA there and I'm currently an employee.

What program are you thinking about?

Do you have any specific questions?

  • I got my undergrad there. Several top-notch programs. What are you going for?
  • I got my MAT there.  I had a great experience there, and the biggest reason was that my program was very small.

  • I am considering a Masters in Nutrition Science. I have no background in science so I will need to take all the pre-requisites, and the GRE. UC is the only school around that offers this.

  • I got my MA from UC in Communications but took a class in the Nutrition Sciences program (as a cross interest).  The class was interesting but I felt like my classmate (from my program) and I were so much more prepared and into the class than the students who were actually in that specific program.  It was kind of weird.  Regardless, the class was interesting and the teacher seemed to really know her stuff.  Good luck with your decision.

  • I am pretty sure that the Nutrition Sciences is over by the Medical School--whole different world.  But I know that the Nutrition Sciences program is very good there.
  • I got my Bachelors and Masters from UC.  Both were on the med school/nursing school/hospital campus.  It truly is another world over there.  It was very nice to never need to hike all over campus for classes, but we didn't experience normal student life because we were isolated from the main campus.
