I need to join a gym - and bad! Anyone have any rave reviews of places you belong or have gone to in the past?
I need a place that has flexible hours (+weekends), possibly with personal trainers, and that's not intimidating! I'm in it for weight loss. I was a member of Lifetime Fitness in Deerfield for a while, but we moved, started working late, etc etc.
So I need to start getting back into it. I live in the Monroe area - but am willing to travel somewhere close. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Kat

Re: gym membership ?'s
They've been in the Valuepacks and the In Touch coupon magazines. I have an expired one that you can try to use if you can't find one. If you can't find a coupon, it is probably worth your time to sign up at a location that's not open yet (like Kenwood) because they will give you a better deal. You can use any club once you sign up.
The coupon I have is $34.99/month + free childcare (up to 2 kids) and no initiation fee.
I live in Monroe and am a member of the Greater Miami Valley YMCA. I usually go to the East Butler Y (Fairfield Twp.-Bridgewater Falls), but I've also taken classes at the Atrium Y. The nice thing about the GMVYMCA membership is that you can go to ANY of their locations (Fairfield, East Butler, Hamilton Central, Hamilton West, Middletown, Atrium). Lots of options to find exactly what you want.
As far as personal trainers go, I think you'd really like Suzy at the East Butler location. She is so sweet and funny, but gives you a great workout.
I agree with Kara, I LOVE Lifetime. It is amazing and it was the only negative when we bought our house that we would be too far away to keep our memberships.
I now belong to Urban Active which isn't bad but I think I have been spoiled forever by Lifetime.
