New Mexico/LC Craft Shows?

I've been trying to google this, but I haven't come up with much. I just moved to LC about 2-3 months ago and I'm trying to find out about some craft shows. I love to go, but I've also started crafting in my free time and I'd love to see if my stuff has any chance of selling.

Anyway, I'd prefer LC, but if there is a huge one in Alb or something, I'd still love to hear about it.

Thanks!

Re: New Mexico/LC Craft Shows?

  • I think there's a big one up in ABQ around balloon fiesta time...right?  Or am I just making this stuff up?  I've never been, but I definitely remember a big one w/tents and everything set up on the corner of Paseo Del Norte and I25.  I can't remember what it's called or exactly when it is.
Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

The Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festivals (http://www.riograndefestivals.com/) are the ones Duff is referring to.  They have the up on Paseo during Balloon Fiesta.  They have  2 others at NM Expo - one in March and one in Nov/Dec. these are juried shows, so you have to submit an application.

In Las Cruces, check out the Framer's Market - http://www.lascrucesfarmersmarket.org/ -  held downtown on We & Sat.  And Mesiall has one on weekends (Sat maybe). I've been to nboth and tehre is agood bit of crafters at both.

  • What craft do you do?   If it's anything with yarn or fabric, look into the NM Fiber Arts Council.  They do fairs all over the place.

  • I make bulletin board and classroom components for teachers - so mostly paper products.

  • That is cool.  I think the Las Cruces and Mesilla markets might be your best bet.  Although there is nothing like that at the Rio Grande Craft Fairs.

Have you looked into the State Fair craft competitions.  You could get lots of visibility there, too.
