So, I have some news....
I will be starting a new job next week! I have been hired as a full time faculty member at my law school (Pace). My official title is Associate Director of Academic Services.
Woohoo!! Basically what happened is that the school decided to take the adjunct position I had, along with two other adjuncts, and turn it into a full time position. They are trying to expand their academic support program and couldn't really do that with only adjuncts - they needed someone to help out the academic support director full time; to meet with students and generally be more of a presence on campus than an adjunct is.
So, I was not looking for a new job at all, but when this opportunity came up I couldn't really pass it up. I have always wanted a career in academia, and this seems like the perfect starting point.
I am still going to be helping out at my law firm, but just on an hourly basis, since the Pace job is full time. I am very excited! I am teaching one class this semester (legal writing for 2L's) and then helping with the entire academic support program throughout the year. Yay!!
