Mine wasn't so nice. =( It started Friday night that I had a very dry cough and by Sat morning it was worse, but I took a shower and felt a lot better so I thought going to Lancaster, PA for the day with the 'rents was a good idea. By the end of the day I was exhausted and didn't think it was such a good idea anymore. By Sunday morning I felt like I got ran over by a truck and was in bad shape. I had a fever, was achy with a really dry cough...I spent the whole day in bed. This morning I don't have the fever, but my cough is terrible and I'm heading to the Dr's. I hate being sick! Well, thanks for listening and sorry for complaining. I hope everyone else had a better weekend. Happy Monday...
Re: How was your weekend?
Oh no, Bonnie. That sounds awful. It's the worst to be sick on a weekend, especially when you have plans. Hope you feel better soon.
My weekend was good. It was good to see my family and we had fun together even if it is hard with my grandmother's health being so poor. My grandmother was very happy to have all three of her kids and her eldest grandkid around. She is now pretty immobile and arranging for an at-home nurse for her has been necessary for a while now. Her H is so resistant and stubborn. Thankfully, he wasn't there for most of the weekend.
I, of course, was smitten with my aunt's new dog. He and I were inseparable all weekend. He even slept with me on Sat night. He burrowed himself right under the covers and slept with his head near my butt almost the whole night. So his current "name" is Nigel but he doesn't really respond to it. They are thinking of calling him Nacho Libre. He was responding to Nacho more often anyway. We had our goodbyes yesterday. Of course, now I really want to adopt a dog.
My weekend was really good! Drove to NH on Fri night and made it in pretty good time and didn't even stop once for a bathroom break!! Usually i need 1-2, so i don't know what was wrong with me...
Sat; did nothing. I mean, literally, did nothing. Went grocery shopping with DH and FIL so we could barbecue. It was supposed to be our way of thanking them for letting us use MIL's car for the past month and a half, but we didn't pay for groceries and FIL did the grilling...hm...
But they enjoyed it. BIL/SIL and their twins were there as well and it was *as* hectic as it usually is. (the twins are a bit much)
Sun; did more nothing. Our bus was at 3pm out of Boston so we left the house at about 1:40, made it to the station with 20mins to spare, stood in line, got on the bus, sat in the first seats and we took off! We hit traffic and made a pit stop at Arby's so we were about 1.5hrs late, but we weren't in a rush. We took Bolt Bus and it is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than the Greyhound we took back in the spring! I'm sure we'll take it many more times now and save some $$!
But now it's really hard to come back to work.
I wish weekends would last longer...

Bonnie - I'm so sorry you were sick over the weekend! Feel better soon.
Friday - we went with DH's old co-worker and his wife to see District 9. We really really liked it - really good movie! Then home to pack and get ready for our drive to PA.
Saturday - woke up early and left for PA. I had my friends bridal shower at 1pm. Then after we went with my parents to check out the new house they are having built. While we were there we broke the baby news to them! They were so happy and it was a cute reaction. I'll post a video that DH took asap. Then dinner with my family.
Sunday - went over to my brother's house and we told my sister and SIL the news. Had lunch, played in the pool and then drove back to the city.
It was a really great relaxing weekend. We were so excited and happy to finally share the news with my family!
Bonnie, I'm so sorry and I hope you feel better quick.
Friday I worked late, then sat home and watched some of True Blood season 1.
Saturday we had our house inspection, then my SILs fiesta/bbq.
Sunday we slept late, straightened up the apartment, then went to the ILs to do laundry. We're starting to get excited about the house and we're trying to decide how we're going to do the place.
Sorry to hear about how you are feeling. I hope the doc gives you meds to make you all better. Whenever I have the onset of a cold and I do anything too exciting, it usually gets worse so I feel you.
My weekend was good.
Friday: I came home and did a little project of spray painting 2 light fixtures for our 2 bedrooms. We ordered Chinese and chilled.
Saturday: not one of the guys who were supposed to come, came so DH did some painting of the halls while I cleaned, ran errands, then later that evening I went to a baby shower in Brooklyn - was fun.
Sunday: DH had to work so I went to church, went to HD (the guys at Home Depot know me now)
. Cooked and ironed later. DH began painting our hall and we discovered that it was not the color that we thought it was so we are planning to mix paints later.

Bonnie, take good care of yourself. Get lots of rest and drink chamomile tea.
Friday: Had a lazy afternoon and then ran errands and spent way too much money in target (I shouldn't be allowed in there alone). Then DH and I went to see The Time Traveler's Wife. We both love the book and really enjoyed the movie.
Saturday: I picked up a brunch shift, which was miserable. Then DH and I took out my friend (some of you might remember her as dollface) because she still hasn't been out alone without the baby. So, we treated her to a really nice dinner.
Sunday: Work. Work. Work. With a broken air conditioner. blech!!!!!!
Mrs De-- I think i had the same cold. Could barely breathe Friday night and told DH that if it was worse on Sat I was going to the ER. Fortunately, much better on Saturday and feeling OK today.
Sat- Went down to the shore and hung out at my parents, got a big nap in. Went on a "Date" with DH, out to dinner, out for ice cream at my favorite childhood ice cream parlor and then out for drinks on the water. LOVELLY!
Sunday- Went for a boat ride in the morning and then to the beach, great day on the water! Took a nap in the late afternoon, have some yummy chicken cooked by mom and then drove 3 hrs in weekend traffic home.--but worth it. Great to get some sun and fun.
Bonnie, that sounds miserable! I hope you're feeling better and soon!
We didn't do much, just mostly relaxed. Saturday, we went over to DH's grandpa's for his birthday. There were a lot of family we haven't seen in a while, which was nice. Sunday mostly hung out at home and went to Rockaways to the beach in the evening with my mom.
Happy Monday!
Bubblegum Explosion
This past weekend was a really nice low-key one, with minimal errands for once!
Friday night: Collapsed at home after a long, hot work-week and DH and I made it a movie night at home. (More like, I watched and he drifted between sleep after working two days of double shifts at the restaurant, so he got a pass)!
Saturday: Had a nice time volunteering to scoop ice-cream for the Youth group at my church for a fundraiser. Capped the day with laundry and a great BBQ at my next door neighbors' who love to dish mojitos.
Sunday: Normally DH's day off, but duty calls in his promotion, so he had to go in and work brunch, filling in for absences. But, with church, cooking dinner, and vegging out in my AC, it was a great weekend.?
