So when and if you have children would you hire someone to do this? This particular photographer is in TX. Ever hear of someone in our area doing this?

  • Hmmm...I'm not sure I would want a photographer in the room for the actual birth part but some of those pictures were amazing and I cried of the shots of the mom being handed the baby for the first time.

I can tell you that after watching the slide show of the unmedicated birth...I really think I'm getting medicated :)

I really don't know....some of the shots are priceless but the whole idea of my legs being sprawled open and someone shooting photos freaks me out

I've never heard anyone do it but I'm sure any good photographer would

  • I would not do this.  Someone can take my future spawns picture after he/she has the vag goo wiped off.  My husband and the medical people can be there and that is it.  My birth is not a free for all.

    this.

  • yea, not happening. i don't want any cameras present til the baby is out. i don't want any pics of tired, sweaty me.
  • agreed.not for me. plus I had a c-sec - would I have got a refund?
  • Did you look at the picts...I was freaked of the ones of the poor mom going through labor!  I don't think I would want that documented or I might be reminded of the pain and never have another :) haha!!

Some shots were cute but that's what my husband would be there for, he could get them.  Heck I won't even let my mom in the room when I have a baby...we had this discussion b/c my sister wants me and my mom in which is going to be neat but I said no way when it's my turn.  My mom said that all her friends were in the room when their daughters or daughter in laws had a baby....I just cracked up b/c I wouldn't let my mom and mother in law in the room if they paid me!!

  • I seem to always 2nd what Nat says...LOL
  • totally on the other side of the fence.  I plan to birth at home unmedicated if I have kids and would not be opposed to having it documented.  Although I do not long to push an 8 lb bowling ball out of my vag I also don't want to succumb to the fear of giving birth and being all doped up for the event.  Pitocin, epidurals and c-sections are given out like candy at halloween....bwahahaha!
  • I literally just gagged when I realized what the link was.

Really?  Can people have just one second of not being connected, photographed, etc?  Ugh...bleh.

  • Its so funny, because if someone had asked me this before I had my daughter, I would have said NO WAY! But looking at those pictures brought me right back to that day~and I started crying! I would love to have pictures like that from the day Taylor was born~ that day is a crazy, wonderful, awesome experience like nothing else, and now looking back on it, I think it would be so special to have pictures like that for my husband and I to look at.

  • I don't think I'd be comfortable with a stranger being there and taking pictures. Maybe someone who was going to be there anyway like my H or my mom can snap a few of the baby. But I just may have to say no to my mom to avoid problems because I don't care if my MIL is a nurse, there's no way I'd be comfortable with her there. She's probably ask something wildly inappropriate like "is he sure it's his baby?"

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
