Hello! I'm an Los Angeles nestie and I'm hoping you ladies can help me out.
My DH and I really want to move to Dallas in about a year and we are not quite sure what to do for jobs. We are both paralegals here in CA and we will be finishing up our BS degrees at the end of next year (nothing specific, just general business degrees). We both want to get out of legal, if possible, and know that our skills also don't transfer too well from state to state. So, we are both looking for new career paths in a new state (kinda daunting).
Anyway...my question is this: Here at UCLA, they have a great extension program through the University that offers all sorts of different certificate and training programs in areas such as legal, real estate, business, etc. Is there something equivalent to this in the Dallas area that I can start looking into now?
We will probably move out there and work in the legal field, but we would like to explore our other career options (without necessarily pursuing graduate work yet).
Thanks in advance for any advice/comments.
Re: University extensions/adult education?
I work at UT Arlington and we have a continuing education program that offers things like that. Their website is http://www.uta.edu/uta/ced
Dallas County Community Colleges--several scattered all over the area
