Reading GTG Ladies

I figured a new thread was in order in case the old one is getting buried for anyone

Since both August 20th and 27th seemed to work for everyone for the GTG, I'm voting for the 20th. That way if anything comes up for anyone (especially since it's right around the corner now) we can just push it back to the 27th. Does that work for now? Also, are we set on the Captain's Cove or does anyone else want to throw out another suggestion? I love the Cove, but I'd be cool wherever. And what time do we want to meet? I was thinking in the 7:00-7:30 range, but I can do earlier or later if that works better. I don't expect to be around much this weekend, but I'll check in by Monday. Have a great weekend ladies!!

The 20th with the 27th as a back up sounds good to me.

The Cove is fine to unless peeps have another idea.

I am in agreement. ; ) 20th at 7 at the cove sounds good to me. is it a dinner-type place? because of hubs' friend john's stories, it sounds more like a club-type place. never been there though, so I could be wrong.

I thought it was dinner-ish...? We're going by there today for Dad's 2nd birthday, although I readin the Eagle the Cove was busted for liquor law violations. Hopefully it's still open. Drinks

It's definitely a restaurant, but I think there are a lot of people who go to just drink. Hopefully on a weeknight it's not too crazy. I didn't hear anything about the liquor law bust, but the worst that would probably happen is they would fine them and take away their liquor license for awhile. I would think they'd still be open for us to get food at. Did you end up going with your Dad?

Yuppers. Went there last night with pops and they're still open. The service was "ehh" but the food was good. Not very busy at all.

I guess the neighbors really don't like having it in the neighborhood. And I can see where they're coming from. It's a secluded quiet area and then this place opens up and it's hoppin.

Yet they serve fried goat cheese. Therefore I tend to be on the side of the Capitan's Cove.

Also, are we meeting outside the restaurant or will there be a table reserved under someone's name?

I vote we just meet out front or inside in the lobby area if the weather is bad. It's kind of a big place to be wandering around looking for your party. Especially when you haven't met everyone in your party to even know what they look like

I think Miller and Kitty should recognize me by now, but I only met Mrs.Buzly once and I've never met Lisa Beth (sorry- I forget your Nest name!) although I don't recall seeing if she is definitely coming or not yet. Anyway, in case it helps anyone- I'm 5'5" with really curly brown hair. I'll probably be carrying a light pink purse. Don't know what I'll be wearing yet, but I can post if anyone thinks it would help them find me

Mountain Spring Captain's Cove- 2619 Hill Road, Reading, PA 19606. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but as long as you get yourself on Hill Road you won't be able to miss it.

I guess this is for dinner, although I might decide to be a scrooge and eat dinner at home and just get dessert or a drink there. We've had some large and unexpected expenses come up lately, so we're tightening up the budget. I may decide to splurge, though, depending on what DH is making for dinner that night

My first name is Lisa, MillersXing is Raina, kittybits21 is Kat (or is it Cat?), and Mrs.Buzly is Shannon. I hope no one minds me sharing that! If you want, I could probably find a picture of myself to post so you have a better idea of someone to look for.

I'm late to the post, but I'll be there!

Are we doing inside? Outside? I'm fine for getting there and sitting at the inside bar and we can decide then.

EDIT: BTW, for ya'll who have not met me, I'll most likely have a hobo style bag with different strips of fabric with a green back, and two big silver hoops on the handle. And I'll most likely be wearing black capris with zippers on the pockets (there, now I'll have to do my wash tonight!). Brown hair (probably up in a clip) with bangs.

Since we are describing our bags/purses, I might as well do the same! I'm not sure what I'm wearing yet, so I won't even try to do that. My purse is vera bradley-ish with brown beads for the handles--pretty big (DH calls it the black hole, hah!) with white, gold, and purple colors. I have dirty blonde hair and am 5' 4".

I look forward to meeting/seeing everyone!
