Do I really need a diaper genie?
P.S. please tell me when my baby related posts get annoying.
Re: Moms- diaper genie?
NEED? Probably not. Is it convenient? Heck yea! Unless you want to constantly be taking out your regular trash to prevent the diaper smell from penetrating the can and your house. It's tightly sealed to prevent odor in the room and we only have to empty it out once a week on trash day.
Oh, and baby related posts are not annoying, at least not to me. But I know what you mean. I have felt that way too.
We have a 2 story house and I wish I would've got 2. I have it upstairs in the nursery and to me...it is a necessity. It saves me to only need to take it out when it's full. It NEVER gets stinky. I love it.
For downstairs, we just throw her diapers in the trash under the sink. It's really small and since it's behind a closed door it doens't get too stinky. But now that cabinet reaks.

?
We have a diaper dekor and empty once per week. ?When we first started going up north to see my parents, I told them not to worry about it and they just bought a flip lid trash can. ?We had to empty that thing twice a day, it stunk so bad. ?They ended up buying a diaper genie as well.?
Okay, on the registry it goes!
Thanks ladies. I don't really know how they work so I thought it was just a super fancy trash can. I didn't think about the "scent" of diapers.
Like Sher, we have the Diaper Champ. ?I love that you don't have to buy special refills for it - -you can just use regular plastic bags. ?Although, just recently I saw that they sell 'Diaper Champ bags' at BRU, never tried it since the regular plastic bags work fine for us.
We have 2 since we have a 2 story home.?
