Moms--tell me about your baby bather

I got this bather as a baby shower gift from my registry. I love how convenient and easy it is to use. The problem is that it has been smelling like mildew, even though I follow instructions for drying it after each use. After reading reading the reviews at BRU.com  I found out this has been a very common problem with MANY people. Nothing gets the smell out so I don't want to use it anymore.

My friend handed this one down to me, but it is so awkward and R doesn't like to be in it.

What bather do you use? What are the pros and cons? Or do you know of a surefire way to get rid of the mildew smell? TIA!

Re: Moms--tell me about your baby bather

  • Well crap. The first one you linked is the one we just got for the new baby. I am sad to hear it smells like mildew :  /

We had this one for Eric. While we never had a problem with it, it was just too bulky for our restroom. Otherwise, it was a great tub,

  • We had this one for Sarah and it was perfect.  The little hammock worked like a charm until she outgrew it and then she was in the "big girl" part of it until she started standing up in it.

  • I have the same one as Lori and have nothing but good things to say about it. The hammock was great for when he was brand new. He seems to be outgrowing it now - not that he's too big, just needs more space to play :)
  • My friend gave him one when he was first born. It came w/a sponge & hammock, but he got too heavy for the hammock. So we bought this one. It's great. It sits him up & the bump actually comes out. That will be handy when he gets a bit older. We tried taking it out once, and it was too slippery.
  • Our bath is the $10 cheapie from BRU. It lays back with no sling or anything. It's worked great for us. I tried to upgrade Mary to the blow up duckie one and she hated getting her hair washed in it because the water would run down the front of her face. For the money...I think it's a great tub.

I believe Amy actually had the same one.

  • Yep, I bought the BRU cheapie and I just loved it. It fold up so it's easy to store, easy to clean, and P used it till he was WAY to large for it.

It almost doesn't look used so it's good to go for the next baby.

IMHO nothing more than this is necessary. Just more to clean and more parts to break.

  • I have the second inflatable one. I just looked over the reviews on it from BRU and yes he does slip down in it.  I have to hold him up or put a washcloth towel down.  He likes bath time so that part hasn't been a problem.  He has recently discovered kicking though so I'm thinking about getting a different tub b/c it's kinda difficult to deal with that and him sliding down at the same time. I guess I just basically gave you a review of one you already have. Sorry.
  • Thanks ladies. I am going to check out all your recs when I get to BRU next time!

We have the same one and J loves it. It has been great for us. I like the bump to help her sit up in it.
