Can anyone rec a good photo/frame shop?

DH and I recently went to NY and took some awesome photos and one of them we want to take to a photo shop to blow up and put on canvas.  We've never taken a photo to a shop and i've looked online at meijer, michaels, etc. so we're looking for more of a specialty shop...

Does anyone have any recs?  We want to put the photo on canvas and get it framed, looking for approx. 55" x 39".  It's going to hang over our couch in the new house.

 Thanks!

Re: Can anyone rec a good photo/frame shop?

  • Check with Cord Camera or Ritz Camera (multiple locations).  I've also heard of a place called Robin Imaging or someting like that.  HTH.
  • I highly recommend Robin Imagining!  They have great customer service and high quality photo materials.
  • Tine Hoffman recommended mpix.com to me. She had some gorgeous canvases in her studio that she got there.
  • Fram Usa Outlet has a huge selection: http://www.frameusa.com/store/index.html  the store is by tricounty mall.
  • mpix is definitely a good source.

I just wanted to give you one piece of advice.  I don't know what kind of camera you used or what resolution your file is of the picture, but if it wasn't taken at a very high resolution, blowing a picture up that big could result in the finished photo looking very pixelated and distorted.  If I'm already telling you something you know, I apologize, but just wanted to make you aware before you spend a lot of money and get a finished product you don't like.
